Bitcoin Staking is live on Stacks! ⚡ More BTC coming into the ecosystem means more users, more apps, more activity, and a bigger need for usable Bitcoin identity. That could be a huge catalyst for BNS. More Bitcoiners on Stacks. More reasons to own your name. 👀

Day 4: Dear @mattgould ? Is UD going to give web3 the signalling, apps, partnerships, integrations, etc that were promised? Or will we just be sidelined? If it will be given the requisite space, then kindly let us know. We invested & want to know where we stand. It’s our right.

1. Investors are becoming immune to $20-40bn mega-deal announcements. They understand why the deals get done: for customers, a cheap call option if the neocloud delivers before the termination date. For emerging neoclouds, the announcement raises the capital to launch. Both rational. What matters is commissioning actual capacity. Execution > announcements.

Maybe the future of Web3 domains isn’t about which company wins. Maybe it’s about building standards where the domains continue to work regardless of which companies come and go. That would change everything. #web3 #domains #connect #open #ai

Is the Web3 domain market dead? Maybe yes. Maybe no. I've been in this space for years. I've seen every side of it. I've watched companies shut down. I've watched companies get backfired by their own community. And I've watched the ones who stayed, stay the same. Here's what I've learned: 📙 >> The tech was never the problem. >> The promises were. We are not here to sell you a million-dollar dream. We are here to co-build with the people who actually hold the domains. --> That's not a tagline. It's the process. Over the past few days, our team talked to domain holders across @ensdomains, @Unstoppable, @freenamecom, and beyond. We asked them one thing: what do you actually need? And one answer came back every single time: They are true believers in the tech. But they are exhausted by the promises. And frustrated by the slow growth. The frustration is real. We're here to fix it. In the next few months, we're launching products built around what holders actually asked for not what we assumed they wanted. Our first product goes live soon. And we're inviting a small group of early believers to shape it before anyone else sees it. If you want to be one of them: "Comment" below, or "DM" me this post. I'll add you to our early-adopter group. The market isn't dead. The trust was. We're building it back : together.

gm.btc 🌄 Watch the market. Track the deals. Know what you want. Cheap STX means cheaper access to quality BNS names. Opportunity favours the prepared. 👀

Three big 2-letter .btc sales recently! 👀 🔸 tn.btc - 1,500 STX 🔸 ik.btc - 1,500 STX 🔸 vq.btc - 1,010 STX There are only 676 possible 2-letter combinations. Rare names, strong sales, and with STX cheap, some serious opportunity. ⚡

This what @unstoppableweb marketed to us before those idiotic pivots! Promised us the world. We bought. Buy 500 & get a whale badge. Ooh. And now? Do what with them? Where’s the logins? Where’s the messaging? Where’s the partnerships? @mattgould keep lying to yourself.

If web3 is so niche why does .bitcoin have the highest ratings?

That is actually a very useful clarification, Matthew. If I understand you correctly, UD made an economic decision not to pursue ICANN applications for certain Web3 TLDs because the expected sales would not justify the application, compliance and infrastructure costs — and customers who purchased since the DNS-integration announcement are therefore being refunded. The remaining question is the interesting one: why should remediation begin only with that later purchaser cohort? Many customers bought in 2021–2022 when UD was positioning Web3 domains as long-term digital identity infrastructure, promoting mass adoption, wallet functionality, Web3 login, decentralized websites and broad ecosystem integration. Those customers arguably relied on an even stronger version of the Web3 thesis than purchasers who came after the DNS pivot had already been announced. If the underlying business assessment has now changed because the Web3 market is, in your words, “small” and “niche,” it would be useful to understand the principled basis for distinguishing between those two groups of customers. That is not an argument against the current refunds. Quite the opposite. It is a question about consistency of remediation. The question is no longer whether refunds are appropriate. UD has apparently answered that question itself. The question is which affected purchaser cohorts should fairly be included.

Refunds should be available for all domains not bought via free credits. People held onto the web 3.0 domains on the basis that you were taking them to ICANN. I've had offers I've turned down on this basis.

💯 ENS community already warned Unstopped domains for years .They make money and build an empire through web3 domains and hit back on those people who trusted them since 2019 .Instead of gaining partnership and integration .They only focus to release new tlds each day which is now hit back on them @mattgould @ntropiq @unstoppableweb @sandy_carter @ensdomains
New blockchain naming systems launch .whatever extensions faster than anyone can track. .crypto .wallet .agent .nft Minting strings is easy. Building naming infrastructure that works across wallets, dApps, exchanges, and the web is the hard part. That distinction matters. ens.domains/blog/post/ens-wa…

They've put us all in a bad position. Only newer holders may end up unscathed. Only one month for a refund (after a 2025 cutoff date) and the process to return (from my experience) is a pain in the ass. We need answers and they're nowhere to be found.

Held an x space today and all 20 attendees feel the same way @mattgould. Lots of thoughts about how this plays out. None are in the favor of #udfam. A little clarity would go a long way.
Hi @mattgould and @unstoppableweb ,This recent email has stirred up a lot of confusion among the community. Could you please explain your new plans for the legacy domains we’ve held on to all this time, and how you’re moving forward? Some feel that we’re being “abandoned” or “rugged.” Now would be an appropriate time to reassure everyone that this is not the case. Thank you.
