I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

it is obviously trivial relative to everything else, but the fact that astra can make me whatever fun little game i can imagine and i can be playing it a few minutes later is so cool

GPT-6 Astra just surpassed CapCut. It's world class at detecting 100% of my bad takes and analyzing the best areas to put text so it doesn't cover my face. i can also watch it do the entire edit here. This was a 1-shot pass it created, all on my phone during a plane take-off. One shotted by GPT-6 Astra and Ody.

You know what’s funny? As a Blender artist this entire time I was like, no, my skills and talent are irreplaceable by a machine. Yet here I am watching a machine create an entire scene I would take days to weeks to make in a single fucking prompt. This is a sick joke, seriously fuck this.
GPT 6 Astra is INSANE. It built the backrooms in blender and then added VHS effects etc. Took 30 minutes to make it and another 20 to export. This isn't AI generated video it's all in blender. It did the sound effects too. aprox 5 prompts.

10,000% overnight? Probably not. Predictable cash flows backed by real assets? That's the point. Our CIO @arthurkatz_eth on why RWAs offer something fundamentally different from what crypto has been used to👇

We don’t have any dramatic promises or over-the-top claims. Just real assets, better rails, and a more connected way for commercial real estate to move, operate, and eventually come onchain.

Bitcoin maximalism is over. Bitcoin "culture" is over. Bitcoin influencers are over. Every popular hardcore Bitcoin figure has disgraced themself in some way. Bitcoin will remain, beneficially stripped of the cult around it.

Fascinating interview that demonstrates just how shallow Christopher Nolan is. A Chinese interviewer confused by Nolan defiling his people's cultural inheritance asks him why he Christianised Homer's Odyssey, he says he hasn't really thought about it but Xenia sounded like the golden rule to him. She asks him why Western filmmakers feel like they need to apologise for depicting greatness, he says we have to contextualise greatness now because we believe in equality and democratic values. She asks him if the gods are real in his film and he says they seem real to people that believe in them. It's actually incredible how little he seems to have thought about any of this. Every time he speaks it makes a mockery of every conservative cuck and midwit intellectual larper that acted like his film has some kind of esoteric message or is anything but the most trite Hollywood boomerslop. It says a lot that the only person willing to question him on any of this was a Chinese podcaster.
Hats off to doctoral student and podcaster Zhong Shu in Beijing, China, who did this fascinating and smart interview with Christopher Nolan about THE ODYSSEY yesterday, originally posted to Bilibili. A great listen/watch.
