Built a little pattern engine for the Calendly rebrand with @Smith_Diction. It got me thinking about what tools are actually good for in branding.

Really grateful to have been part of the Calendly rebrand. Seeing firsthand how much care and thought @mikesmith187, @charamelody, and the whole @Smith_Diction team poured into every detail was special. Especially at this scale. Proud of what we made with Calendly.
🗓️ NEW WORK FOR @Calendly 🗓️ Back when we first started S&D one of the most needless hassles that drove me crazy was the email tennis of scheduling a meeting. A few years ago, we started using Calendly, and it was infinitely better. So when they asked us to work on their brand it felt like karma. It's so rare that you get to work on an identity for something that actually changed your business. So we knew we had to do it right. Read the full case study here ↓ smith-diction.medium.com/bra… Special thanks to my whole team at @Smith_Diction who constantly inspire me every day and to @gavinpotenza, @liz__meyer, @studiojud, @j3rks_inc, and @JustinLawes for hopping in with us on this one. Literally couldnt have done it without you.

Redefining the shape of data over here
Been working on something called Areaform. It generates area-based data viz that's nearly impossible to make by hand. Latest experiment adds a diffusion layer. Less dashboard, more atmosphere. You stop reading it like a chart and start reading it more like weather.

Lead Datalander, @gavinpotenza has been whipping together some crazy tools in the past year, for some exciting brands. but here's one for the creative community
I needed a tool to help me layout moodboards, so I built a Figma plugin to do it for me. It’s surprisingly good at it. Currently has 4 refined layouts: Grid, Editorial, Masonry, and Cluster. Handles up to 40 images and respects aspect ratios. Meet Moodboard 3000

I love and appreciate that @framer keeps using our @wearedatalands site in their ads/promo. Maybe give us a discount or something? 😇

Thinking about these logos that @wearedatalands worked on last year that didn't see the light of day.. until NOW (but client still NDA!) Our concept was to pull simple shapes together to create an iconic mark that could animate really well.

Lululemon Studio (f. Mirror) came to @wearedatalands to rethink and redesign their user scoring system. We came up with a full visual design system that successfully encompasses not only the total score, but also each individual facet. Here's how it turned out:

Hey @a16z, your 2023 State of Crypto report could use some data visualization help. Notably, when using circles, you're comparing the circle diameters, not the circle areas. Which makes for inaccurate comparisons. Just to show the difference, I went ahead and fixed it

Fun fact: all of our projects have been plotted by hand, no code involved 🥴
Revisiting this editorialized dataviz piece made with @liz__meyer for Howler magazine back in ~2013. One of my favorites we've made, and our first real collab. Especially like the timeline. Art directed by @thisisforest, who really helped elevate it.

What does it look like when a company like Nike asks Datalands to revamp their data viz? A few selects from our @nike x @wearedatalands collab last year

we've been wanting to work on another one of these so badly. we'll call this dash-viz(?) it's a really fun change of pace, thinking in terms of a very physical experience, like we did here
