Quick thought on Tesla FSD and parking. Last night when on FSD heading to my destination I realized—“Tesla has solved autonomous driving” then my thoughts shifted to THE destination and thought “except for parking.” Who would have thought that the simplest thing “parking” would be such a challenge for autonomous driving. But it is. It is so much more nuanced and personal than 90% of the driving experience. For example, I prefer to park toward the back of a parking lot, I like the walk from my spot to the door and I like my car away from swinging doors and shopping carts. And with ASS, if I want my car, it can come and scoop me from across the lot. Does the parking component of FSD need a more personal, more granular approach? Maybe, probably. I for one would love to be able to set my parking preferences like the driving settings (Sloth, Chill, Normal…) I know Elon and Tesla are aware and I’m confident they are working on solutions, but I think it’s more of a personal preference than a “closest spot” or “drop off at curb” mentality. If I notice myself, I notice a shift in mentality when I enter a parking situation…my brain enters another mode/interface and that’s the way I think Tesla should view it. Oh, and I can’t wait until my Cybertruck will park itself in my garage, exactly how I do.🙂🙏🏼

I shake my head at times with Apple iOS, the UI gets hitched up way to often, between horizon and vertical layouts, messages is a mess, the notifications/overlays (even when off) are just too much it feels like Jobs would’ve never release a product in this shape. I am running an iPhone 17 Pro Max on the latest OS with plenty of storage/memory.

I’ve always opposed EV mandates, rejected the idea that EVs will save the world, and preferred traditional engines for vehicles like the F-150 I used to drive. That said, it’s clear that Teslas are absolutely top-notch products. It’s not hard to see how they’ve developed a dedicated following.

Hey @Apple can you give us users our own preference (sort of like browser option preference) for when I push my iPhone side button to use @grok My core ethical and moral values will never let me use a product (ChatGPT) overseen by an immoral, lying, charlatan such as Sam Altman. I’m not alone in this sentiment. The first product that creates this quick button option for AI app preference will win my business. I’ve been with Apple/Mac since 1993 (and have held a giant AAPL stock position since 2002) so I’ve been hardcore Apple, for a long time. I can honestly say that Steve Jobs would have never partnered with Sam Altman. Ever.
