what do you wish digital spaces felt like? come around the campfire and listen to @_jzhao and I message about the things that feel right to us and the inspirations that fueled our design of @we_bsite (a minimally edited, live conversation)

playhtml.fun is open in beta πŸ› enhance HTML elements with real-time interactivity that persists across refreshes (open-source and configurable in a couple lines of code, no server needed!)

been playing with a library that magically makes any HTML element collaboratively interactive and persistent... for example, `can-move` makes an object movable by anyone who visits

websites are more often made of people where computers are often made for individuals maybe that's why i think websites are fundamentally good. they are simply a digitized container for humanity

i think we would all love to drop by a cozy kitchen to take shelter from how loud the internet is sometimes. i hope we can visit kat's kitchen bench one day and perhaps we will grow the courage to open our own doors to weary travelers of the web.

happy sunday 🌻 today we're sharing a wonderful letter from our friend kristoffer on an internet with neighborhood cafes. the kinds with "good but not outstanding rating on Google Maps" and where you know "the playlist [as much as] the menu and the staff"

the past few months @_jzhao & I have been scheming on our visions for communal computingβ€”the kind that imbues agency, encourages imagination, play, and bearing witness, and facilitates spaces for gathering. (we)bsite is the manifestation of these dreams xitter.cf/we_bsite/status/163362…

We are opening our little gathering place to the world! @spencerc99 and I created we-bsite as a gathering space β€” a camp fire β€” for people to share their hopes and dreams for the internet.
