I got my own name on the other place and it rocks. I took the plunge and replaced my home screen app from this to that. Really liking that decision, encourage y'all to join! bsky.app/profile/willbuck.bs…

I have been saying this for years. Minivans are awesome actually and I hope we get more Electric ones like the upcoming @idbuzzvw because I want options to choose from!

Heard the @RemapRadio folks talking about this one, looks interesting!
Arco has +150 reviews, 98% being positive ✨ Sadly, we are struggling to make people notice about the game itself, being considered already as a "hidden gem"💎 Our gameplay trailer shows how Arco works, and hopefully it will catch your eye 👀 A RT will help us A LOT🙏

This. "Mayonnaise is spicy" is a meme and true for a small percentage of Minnesotans, sure, but some of us here want the 4 or 5 stars at the Thai place. I want the habanero in my chili. I dollop wasabi on my sushi. Spicy is good actually

I'm tearing up, hadn't heard this before, really beautiful

The HugOps Song was written for such a time as this. Hugs to CrowdStrike, but even more so to the IT teams around the world dealing with the fallout of this outage.
Dear intern: We've all screwed something up, So welcome to the club. "That Sinking Feeling (The #HugOps Song)"

I actually did have the conversations with my reports about recording and transcribing automatically but the recordings staying just for us, and there were some concerns but we ultimately all agreed to it and it's been really nice!

I think as long as you aren't wielding it as a weapon to penalize people and have built the trust ahead of time that your intent is to use it as a tool for productivity and improvement, it can be really helpful.

I share your concerns about using it to make critical judgments and the biases and structural inequalities it may inadvertently reinforce though and think you have to be vigilant to that

Replying to @FrontEndHH
@FrontEndHH I was listening to episode 191 and @JemYoung mentioned he wished there was something to transcribe and summarize meetings. Can't believe I'd advocate for MS Teams but their copilot does this and it's pretty good! I find it helpful in about 90% of cases

Shoutouts to the folks who entertained my inner teen and played some Halo with me at #sgdq2024 😁 especially the homie @World9Gaming who helped me get all the equipment checked out. Y'all are real ones and made my first in person @GamesDoneQuick a treat!

Can't reply but l-tek are well regarded. @smxgame are the premium (got to try one at @GamesDoneQuick this week, so nice!) but as you said, they are usually sold out as they build in batches that go quickly! iamats.com/shop/dance-mat-lt…..

Rhythm Horizon have been "coming soon" for the last 6 years ... And I have all the parts to build something but haven't been able to motivate myself to really finish the project the past 5 years myself... Hopefully someday I'll be able to

I joined Twitter in the middle of a talk about @theaviary at @GR8ConfUS 2011, less than a year into my career. Many shitty things happen here, but I'm so grateful to have found news and community amongst the many kind and brilliant technologists who form great discussions!

All this discourse really boils down to this imo; hold two things at once Seven is a LOT of rounds. Not a great candidate experience, it's inefficient at best and hazing at worst. It's also true that companies drop candidates for anything less than "hell yes" at every step
Replying to @ashleymcnamara
Folks are stuck on the number of interviews. I agree that seven interviews is a lot, but that’s not the point. The point is that you never assume you have the job until you have the job.

Hiring managers should be thoughtful and intentional getting the best people excited to join you. @woven_teams is doing a great job helping HMs with this IMO, give them a look But you really don't have the job until you start. Show up with your best self in interviews

You gotta focus on what you can control. Can give feedback on the process after it's finished, & set boundaries only as they serve you well. I've said no to a round of interviews before. Didn't get the job. That was okay for me, wasn't worth it, but know that answer for yourself

If you weren't fortunate enough to hear it in person, take the time to check out @CwodMN's passionate pitch for RCV at the DFL state convention! Thank you Senator for your consistent support for advancing #rankedchoicevoting in our state! youtu.be/Msmjh9qJPcU

I barely learned TFS (through my part time job) and SVN (by the good grace of a capstone project partner who used it at his pt job) as a 2010 grad. Git barely existed, git hub wasn't popular yet. I picked up enough git to function at work in the first month 1/2

I *wish* they taught source control in the intro class (301 at UWisc I think?). I made myself crazy with my OS projects saving "final final" versions to my desktop and such. I think some basic OS skills & tools & professional skills classes would be great to teach in college

That said, what the industry actually needs is more entry level jobs, more kind teammates willing to teach entry level grads, more managers wise enough to give their team the space to do all this, less shame to folks willing to admit what they don't know, and less ego
