We have been posting for a while now about concerns over the lack of shin and ankle protection worn by players in today’s game. We really hope to see change, with strict regulations, improving player safety by @FA over use of shin and ankle guards. Great to see junior teams like @WBFCjuniors highlighting this to their younger players to protect their safety. Well done! More needs to be done at all levels! Kids see stars wearing these and want them. More must be done!

Are these shin guards compounding a problem with re-refereeing?
These shin guards offer very little protection to the shin area, and no protection to the ankle. This means DLC’s tackle tonight does catch Clyne, and therefore he feels studs to his lower leg.
Ironically DLC is in the photo below wearing the limited guard protection the modern day pads provide.
Is this a major problem with amounting injuries? And is this compounding the problem with decisions in game? where tackles are felt, observed, and then reviewed in super slow mo?
