I actually think the planet was still relevant and the phenomena it was riddled with still mattered but the origin of all of it extended beyond itself
In classic Xeno fashion, we were given a mystery and in solving it, the answers led to huge, much more wild cosmic revelations
It's hard to explain much further without getting deep into spoilers but I fully believe this was always the path this story was gonna take, we just got essentially the plot of a full sequel truncated into one chapter. Tbh it's kinda my favorite sci fi material in the franchise
