After winning the Teacher of the Year award at a conference in TX, UMD Professor Kibret was detained by ICE at the airport. 3 weeks later he’s still in custody. He’s not the “worst of the worst” & detaining him isn’t making our communities safer. He should be released, now. wbaltv.com/article/maryland-…

For months, 20-year-old U.S. citizen Sama Safi has been subjected to unspeakable cruelty in Israeli prison after being kidnapped from her home. Sama suffers from a chronic health condition, and her doctors warn that she now risks irreversible organ damage. Free Sama now!

Video from Jackson Heights, Queens today appears to show NYPD enforcing a physical barrier between community response to ICE operating what witnesses described as a “checkpoint” wherein ICE (illegally?) blocked the street and detained a driver.

The United States is blocking 7,000 containers of medicine, food, and resources for water and energy from reaching Cuba. The US threatens to freeze assets of entities providing support to Cuba. This violates Article 33 of Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits collective punishment—this’s a blatant violation of international law and a crime against humanity. The US embargo cruelly cut off all fuel and humanitarian aid, power is out, leaving hospitals without electricity. Dialysis patients, babies in NICU, and others will die. Food is rotting. Water pumps stopped working. Systems are breaking down, strangled by the US embargo.

🚨🗣Jose Manuel Lopez speaking on why he was the only Argentina player watching Spain lift the world cup: "Even if I get expelled from the national team, I have no regret for turning around to watch Spain lift the world cup" "When we went to receive our medals, the Spanish team line up to applaud us" "Even my captain Lionel Messi also turn his back, in that moment everything is believe in crumble" "If I turn my back, I don't deserve to be call a footballer"

The quotes attributed to José Manuel López are entirely fabricated. The post comes from a satirical account whose profile bio states: "Football Fiction & Satire || Don't believe a Single Word." x.com/David_Ornside

Gary Lineker, my childhood football hero. Made in Leicester, England. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani asked him what it’s like to score in a World Cup. Lineker’s answer: like hearing rent got frozen for 2 million New Yorkers. This is too good! 1986 still hurts: England 1, Argentina 2.

There is absolutely NO reason to slam that boy's head on stone. He was already restrained. There was NO reason to point their tasers at people observing. They weren't obstructing. These ICE thugs have to be brought to justice!

ICE slam man's head against stone wall—send him to hospital with fractured skull. Man's hands were already behind his back. Agents then physically assault legal observers—soon as they realize they're caught on video. Threaten to shoot witnesses with taser—even firing it up. Agent holds taser sideways "gangster style"—is this proper training? Man was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. Incident occurred outside the Kane County Judicial Center in the St. Charles suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

It’s absolutely crazy that Hakeem Jeffries’ speech intentionally echoes George Wallace’s “segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation tomorrow” but replaces “segregation” with “Israel”.

Replying to @NYCMayor
@NYCMayor promised to keep the NYPD headcount flat, but his budget includes 580 new cops, while our communities lack services that will really keep us safe. Join us TOMORROW 6/25 12pm to demand investments in housing, healthcare & real community safety—not more cops! #CareNotCops
