Excellent fact sheet from NCAS! Not everyone in hospital needs IV treatment. If antibiotics are needed, always consider if they can be given orally. #AMS #patientsafety #choosingwisely #antibiotics
Oral antibiotics: a very good place to start! Not everyone in hospital needs cannulation. Hospitals can provide safe/optimal care while administering antibiotics orally. Use intravenous antibiotics when the oral route is not suitable. New NCAS fact-sheet: ncas-australia.org/education
