A few years ago, Ashu had a high-paying corporate job in London, earning millions. Saurav was writing about the country’s legal system and living a great life. Both had successful careers, financial security and every reason to continue living the lives they had built for themselves. But they chose to give it all up in the hope of making this country a better place. They had absolutely no reason to leave behind their comfortable lives, take to the streets, face uncertainty and eventually end up in jail. Yet they did. What I admire most about these two is that despite coming from privileged backgrounds, they chose to fight for those who aren’t as fortunate. They could have easily looked the other way, enjoyed their lives and never bothered about the struggles of people they had never even met. Nobody asked them to make these sacrifices. Nobody expected them to. But they did, because they genuinely care about people beyond themselves. And to me, that is the greatest quality a human being can have. To stand up for people you don’t know, to fight battles that aren’t your own, and to risk everything you have so that someone else might have a better life. That’s the kind of people Ashu and Saurav are.

The state is deliberately prolonging Ashu and Saurav’s illegal arrest by using every dirty trick in the book to delay court proceedings and prevent their release. They have no legal grounds to keep them behind bars, so they are resorting to delaying tactics to keep them there.
VIDEO | Delhi: Reacting to the judicial custody of CJP co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, CJP legal head Ratna Singh says, "We have been here since morning. We were told that the entire hearing would take place at 12.00 pm. Today, everything was complete, the verification was done, and all requirements were met. We have been waiting here since noon. The SEM (Special Executive Magistrate) was at the police station by 1:30 pm, but he did not enter the courtroom until 5.00 pm. When he finally arrived, he refused to hear our case on its merits regarding whether Saurav and Ashutosh should be released from judicial custody. Instead, he made arbitrary remarks. The public prosecutor, who had not appeared at the police station for the last four days, was present today. Within about five minutes of the proceedings, the SEM told the court that he had received a threatening message. From that point on, the entire discussion revolved solely around that message. It is clear that this entire episode was orchestrated. They had decided beforehand to come into the courtroom and focus exclusively on this alleged threatening message, completely bypassing whether the formalities required for Saurav and Ashutosh's release were fulfilled. Given how this process has been deliberately delayed and handled, I am utterly disappointed..." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

From the Spring of the Gazelles- the Oldest Faces in the Levant In a darkened room of the Jordan Museum in Amman stand some of the strangest and most haunting figures ever made. They are about nine thousand years old. Pale, flat, almost life-sized, with long necks and stubby hands, they stare out at you with huge almond eyes ringed in black bitumen, as if they had just woken from a very long sleep. Which, in a sense, they have.

It's quite funny come to think of it. Every single time the govt is caught with its pants down, a whole gaggle of columnists get to work, advising the Leader of the Opposition on what he shouldn't, or should, do! They have not a word of caution or criticism for the government, but are full of wisdom for the Opposition! And they have been doing it for a dozen years. 🧐 Give it a break!

I have lived in China since 1995. I saw the poverty with my own eyes. Then I watched it disappear. This chart going viral today tells the story > China extreme poverty: 91.3% in 1984. Zero by 2022. No colour revolution. No IMF lectures. No NGOs. Planning, roads, factories, schools. And the West still calls it a "failed system"….

Instead of cracking down on students and activists, the police should focus on actual criminals. This is what happens when the Govt and police have their priorities completely misplaced.

Modi's biggest achievement in 13 years is building a very strong and almost violent culture of anti-intellectualism. He has dragged the nation into a cesspool of infinite mediocrity, covered with limitless arrogance. Ambition is now equal to achievement. And his Bhakts actually believe every lie being peddled, despite stark proofs visible to naked eye. The loss is generational. By the time he's done with the country, there'd be little left. It'll be back to building from near scratch.

A passenger bus from Srinagar was attacked with Bricks and Rocks at Divine Star Dhaba near Karnal lat night (Sat 17th Oct 2026 at 10.45 PM).It is deeply painful and distressing to hear about such a senseless and cowardly act of violence. The bus has been damaged and one elderly man injured and instead of taking action against the culprits and pacifying the passengers the Police detained a Kashmiri Passenger for 2 hrs and was let free late night. Will this ever happen in J&K ? See how our police and locals treat the Tourists ? The bus is on the way to Srinagar it left at 2 am from the spot. I appeal LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah to take up this matter with Haryana Govt and ensure no such incidents are repeated in future @OfficeOfLGJandK @LokBhavanJandK @CM_JnK @cmohry @PoliceKarnal @police_haryana @MehboobaMufti @RuhullahMehdi @sajadlone @parawahid @DrJitendraSingh @DrVeeri @tanvirsadiq @Agasyedmuntazir @rjnasirkashmir @nasirsogami @TahirPeerzada_ @KashmirPolic7

Making a shift from its previous stance Former CM and #YSRCP Chief #YSJagan says he " regrets " supporting the 2023 law on appointing Election Commissioners, saying the ruling government should not control the selection process. He demands a neutral panel comprising the PM, LoP & CJI, and calls for similar reforms in State Election Commission appointments. “An examiner cannot be appointed by the student,” he argues, stressing that electoral credibility depends on impartial appointments. #ElectionCommission #SpecialIntensiveRevision #SIR #GyaneshKumar
