While there are some in Lebanon who seek peace, there are enough there who routinely vote Hezbollah into power, that it’s beyond asinine to say their intentions are peaceful.
I spoke with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam today. Canada is a long-time partner of Lebanon, and stands in solidarity with its government and people as Lebanon has unwillingly been drawn into the current conflict in the Middle East.
We call for all parties to de-escalate and respect Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The idea of the Royal Canadian Air Force taking on an Israeli government plane, flown by former Israeli Air Force pilots, is just so stupid that this idea doesn’t even anger me.
