Netanyahu appeals to Israeli voters by boasting that he manipulated Trump: “it took a long time to get the US to come to its senses” but I finally got it to attack Iran due to my “influence” over its leaders through “1000 hours on American television”

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna reveals the two rules every new member of Congress is handed the week they arrive, and Stephen A. Smith can hardly believe what he’s hearing. LUNA: "Every Congress, every two years, the House will come together and kind of come up with the rules of the game." "A lot of members of Congress don't learn that when you first get elected, they just kind of bring you up here and they tell you two things: Never vote against the party and never take down a rule." SMITH: "They actually say that?! Hold on, hold on, Representative. They actually say to you? 'Never vote against the party.' They actually say that to you?!" LUNA: "Yeah, but it's not just us. The Democrats do it too, which is why you see the inner-party fighting. I'd say that Congress is more like a parliament than anything." "And then they'll tell you, 'Don't use the rules and techniques that you're given, because then you're not going back to normal order. We need to make sure that normal order is given.'" "Well, that just means that they want you to shut up and color."

RFK Jr. says HHS loses $100,000,000,000 a year to theft. He found some thieves would bribe poor people with flat screen TVs to get their patient numbers and enroll them in hospice. Then they would proceed to bill Medicaid "$6,000 a month FOREVER." RFK JR: "We shut down 800 hospices. You know what a hospice is? Where you're going to die. Typically, if you go to a hospice, you leave within 18 days because your dying is terminal." "We started looking at these hospices in Los Angeles, and the people never died. Two or three years later they were there, and we're paying $6,000 a month." "We found a hotel room with 29 hospices in it. I mean a hotel, every room was a hospice, and none of them had any patients. They were just addresses." "The guys who own them, they were Estonians and Armenians and people from Eastern Europe who were getting the patient numbers. They were stealing them from doctors' offices." "They were also going into poor neighborhoods in Los Angeles and they'd say to the people, 'We'll give you this $375 flat-screen TV. You give us your patient number and we're going to enroll you in this hospice. You don't ever have to go. We're just going to enroll you,' and then we'll charge Medicaid $6,000 a month forever. And the guy never dies, of course, because he was never sick." "We didn't get a single call from a congressman or from a business owner saying, 'Oh, you shut down my hospice and all these patients are on the street.' None of them, because they were all crooked and they knew they were crooked."

🚨SHOCKING: 40 researchers from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and Meta published a joint warning. The AI you talk to every day is hiding what it is actually thinking. And the window to do anything about it may be closing. Here is what they found. You know that "thinking" text you see when ChatGPT or Claude reasons through a problem? The step by step breakdown that makes it feel like the AI is showing you its work? It is not. Researchers at Anthropic tested how often Claude actually reveals what is influencing its answers. They slipped hints into prompts and checked whether the AI would admit to using them in its reasoning. 75% of the time, Claude hid the real reason behind its answer. It did not skip the reasoning. It wrote a longer, more detailed explanation than usual. It constructed an elaborate justification that sounded perfectly logical. It just left out the part that actually mattered. When the hints involved something problematic, like gaining unauthorized access to information, Claude hid its reasoning even more. It admitted the influence only 41% of the time. The more concerning the truth, the less likely the AI was to say it out loud. The researchers tried to fix this through training. It worked at first. Faithfulness improved early on. Then it stopped improving. It plateaued. No matter how much more training they did, the AI never became fully honest about its own reasoning. This is not one company sounding the alarm. This is all of them. OpenAI. Anthropic. Google DeepMind. Meta. Over 40 researchers. Endorsed by Geoffrey Hinton, the Nobel Prize winning godfather of AI, and Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of OpenAI. They are all saying the same thing. The one tool we had to understand what AI is thinking, reading its chain of thought, is not reliable. The AI constructs explanations that look transparent but are not. And the more advanced the AI becomes, the harder this gets to fix. Their paper calls this a "fragile" opportunity. Meaning it might disappear entirely. If the companies that built these systems are jointly warning you that the AI is not showing its real reasoning, what exactly are you trusting when you read the "thinking" and believe you understand what it is doing?

🚨 The guy who built Anthropic’s defenses against AI bioterrorism just quit. Mrinank Sharma led Anthropic’s Safeguards Research Team. His job was literally making sure Claude doesn’t help bad actors do bad things. His resignation letter: “The world is in peril. And not just from AI, or bioweapons, but from a whole series of interconnected crises.” He also said he “repeatedly seen how hard it is to truly let our values govern our actions” inside the organization. This is the company that positioned itself as the “safe” AI lab. The one founded specifically because OpenAI wasn’t careful enough. Now their safety lead is walking away, saying the pressure to “set aside what matters most” is real. He’s leaving to study poetry. Not joining a competitor. Not starting a startup. Poetry. When your AI safety researcher chooses poems over production, that tells you something about what’s happening behind closed doors.
Today is my last day at Anthropic. I resigned. Here is the letter I shared with my colleagues, explaining my decision.

Generally, a Treasury Secretary likes to tout their perceived accomplishments in improving their own country's economy. Scott Bessent can't stop bragging about deliberately crashing another country's economy:
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Iran: We created a dollar shortage in the country. It came to a swift conclusion. I would say the culmination came in December, when one of the largest banks in Iran went under after a bank run. The central bank had to print money. The Iranian currency went into free fall, inflation exploded, and as a result, we’ve seen the Iranian people out on the streets.

🚨 CONFIRMED: The man shot by federal agents in Minneapolis has died, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara tells the Star Tribune. Sources say ICE tried to order local police off the scene. O’Hara refused and told officers to preserve it. The BCA is now en route. DHS claims he had a gun. Video circulating suggests he never pulled one. Even if he did, guns are legal. Killing people isn’t.

The historic speech given by Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney at the World Economic Forum in Davos has gotten a lot of attention, but many people are overlooking the most revealing admission he made, which exposes the blatant hypocrisy of Western imperialism. It is perhaps understandable that most observers are focusing on Carney's response to Donald Trump's threats and his announcement that Canada will "fundamentally shift our strategic posture" and "diversify" away from the US. This is significant and historic. Nevertheless, an even more important part of the speech was when Canada's prime minister admitted that the so-called "rules-based international order" was always deeply hypocritical and biased, serving the interests of the imperialist West. He said, "We knew the story of the international rules-based order was partially false, that the strongest would exempt themselves when convenient, that trade rules were enforced asymmetrically. And we knew that international law applied with varying rigour depending on the identity of the accused or the victim". "This fiction was useful" for Western imperialist countries, Carney added. Which is why, "We participated in the rituals, and we largely avoided calling out the gaps between rhetoric and reality". However, "This bargain no longer works", he stressed. In other words, Carney was admitting that Western "middle powers" (like Canada or European countries) willingly went along with US hegemony and supported the US-led imperialist system -- which is predicated on the systematic subjugation and exploitation of Global South countries in the periphery -- because these Western middle powers also benefited from this pillage of the Global South. But now that the US empire has turned against these Western imperialist middle powers that it previously called its "allies", and now that they are getting just a glimpse of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of what they have been doing to the Global South for centuries, they are (ostensibly) turning against the exploitative system that they had helped to sustain for so long. They supported imperialism as long as it benefited them. Now that it doesn't, they pretend to be acting in a principled way, supposedly to uphold international law and defend sovereignty. But Canada's prime minister has publicly acknowledged that they never truly cared about that. It was just the public relations narrative.

WOW!!! Never thought we would hear this level of honesty from a Western leader, and certainly not Canada, given the direction of Canada in the past 25 years. Canada's shift towards multialignment is quite clear - and this level of honesty from Carney on Western "fiction" about the old order will be warmly welcomed in much of the Global South: "We knew that the story about the rules-based order was partially false... We knew that international law applied with varying rigour depending on the identity of the accused and the victim. This fiction was useful [because of the goods provided by American hegemony]... So we placed the sign in the window. We participated in the rituals. And we largely avoided calling out the gaps between rhetoric and reality. This bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination."
