Everyone is making AI smarter. TypeSafe is making AI cheaper by making it do less. Meet Jev: an AI model built to make decisions—not write paragraphs. TypeSafe claims up to 200× faster and 400× cheaper on the right workloads. That sounds insane. Until you see what it actually does. 🧵👇

10/ My mental model: LLMs generate. Jev decides. Code executes. If that division of labor works at scale, AI agents may become dramatically cheaper to run. And that’s the part worth watching.

Jev is still early, and the headline performance numbers are TypeSafe’s own benchmarks, so I wouldn’t treat “200× faster / 400× cheaper” as a universal guarantee. But the architectural idea is fascinating: Stop asking AI to write everything. Sometimes just ask it to choose. Follow me for more AI breakdowns. ⚡

Impressive work! Turning complex images into accurate, structured text is a huge AI win. 🔥
🔗GitHub:

A guy uses his AirPods Pro for music and phone calls. That's it. Play. Pause. Answer. Hang up. He's owned them for 2 years. He's never opened AirPods settings beyond pairing them to his iPhone. An audiologist who specializes in hearing technology looked at his AirPods and said: "You're using 10% of what's in your ears. Those aren't Bluetooth earbuds. They're the most advanced consumer audio device ever made with an FDA-approved hearing aid, a clinical-grade hearing test, a remote microphone, a real-time conversation detector, an adaptive noise system that adjusts 48,000 times per second, built-in background sounds for focus and sleep, spatial audio personalized to the shape of your ears, hearing protection that monitors environmental noise automatically, and head gestures that let you answer calls by nodding without touching your phone." He said: "I use them for Spotify and phone calls." "You're using a $249 medical device as a music player. Everything I just listed is already inside your AirPods. It's already installed. It's already paid for. It requires zero downloads, zero subscriptions, and zero additional hardware. You just have to turn it on in Settings you've never opened." She showed him 9 features that afternoon. He put his AirPods back in. Same earbuds. Same case. Same firmware. They sounded different. They behaved differently. They did things he didn't know earbuds could do. "AirPods Pro aren't earbuds that Apple added features to. They're a hearing platform that Apple packaged as earbuds. Most owners buy the earbuds and never discover the platform." Here are the 9 features 🧵
