Well, I just wanted to test the 10g forms locally from a #Windows11 machine using Chrome @MicrosoftEdge browser.

Not for PRODUCTION. Hosting Oracle EBS and ORDS on the same server with SSL. @Oracle_EBS

More than a dozen apps get installed along with Windows 10,11. Uninstalling them one after another could be challenging, time consuming. Here, one of my posts dealing with removing the bloatware and reinstalling Microsoft store.

While drafting, I was confident to address post installation hurdles based on my experiences with previous version. I think, I was wrong :]. Will expand the post with version specific instructions.

After some struggles, managed to understand how @Oracle_EBS desktop integrator Table LOVs could return multiple column values to desktop files.
The developer guide is absolutely useless, considering the lack of personal blogs or videos available on internet.
Today we will retire 3 #Oracle forms modules that reshaped the way our retailing uses @Oracle_EBS suite. Will be replacing them with extended versions and revised database objects saved us from 200K USD additional investment.
A moment, a day, an event could change a person's life entirely/forever. Mine was changed by a single @Oracle_EBS public API.
Thank you "OE_ORDER_PUB.process_order" 🙏
Slowly we are moving away from @Oracle RDF reports to XML Publisher on @Oracle_EBS & I started teaching myself @Office word.
Those tables are exciting.
doNet, APEX or Oracle forms? From the 3, opted the first & opened a never ending development cycle.
dotNet core gives endless possibilities, yet if your target is pure business and users are already familiar with Oracle, stick to Forns, APEX then dotNet.
I know why I hated dot Net development now. Against the low code Oracle Forms, stateless data handling is a nightmare.
Tableau is an overpriced, rigid dashboard software. Much of it could be easily replicated using @OracleAPEX
After inspecting every element and their properties, I realized that the @OracleAPEX master details samples were based on tables with pre-insert triggers. Their Summit sample application's download is ages old & it doesn't have sample data.
Replying to @Oracle_EBS
@Oracle_EBS cloning is one of the most tedious DBA activities, that require time, patience & attention. This could turn into a nightmare if the database is huge and the restored database files become useless after some wrong steps. Being a "not certified DBA" gave me some
I just finalized one bash script for @Oracle_EBS startup and shutdown. Working on a set of scripts, together will do #rman restore, clone a single instance of #EBS12 12.2 environment.

Today, I managed to download and install #Oracle #APEX demo application "Summit" through a Forms to APEX migration thread. Will upload the fixed sample database soon.
