Twitter in 2014:
"WebGL will fail because people will steal 3D models from websites."
Twitter in 2024:
"How do you download 3D models from websites?"
Today was my last day at Unity. It's been an amazing journey with some incredible people, but now it's time for the next chapter!
(Is that enough clichés? I can add some more in there, I feel like I've been speaking in them all week :)

If you’re a “senior Democrat” that feels this way, you should absolutely retire and make space for true leadership that refuses to resign themselves to fascism.
This kind of leadership is functionally useless to the American people. Retire.
A senior House Democrat tells Axios: "We've all resigned ourselves to a second Trump presidency." axios.com/2024/07/14/house-d…

Hacked up a SWD-based rp2040 profiler. Seems to work fairly well! Instructions and info at: github.com/vvuk/pico_debug/b…
Some wonkiness due to reuse of frame pointer register, but it's good enough, especially compared to "nothing".
Gah twitter really puts that repo image just front and center. The bulk of the SWD etc. code comes from github.com/essele/pico_debug, I just hacked in a profiler! (I don't know if he's on twitter)
Wow. 4 ads in the middle of a show on Amazon Prime. Um, no?
Sure is a great way to just make me start downloading stuff again

After 15+ years of exploring "Easy 3D" through SDFs, we've now put #ProjectNeo together, which you can try today in beta here: projectneo.adobe.com/

I just tried Unity 6 Beta, I started with Unity's STP upscaler on the URP renderer and dare I say it is the best upscaler I have ever seen, you only start seeing some image breakup once you're rendering as low as 20% of the native frame, on 50% which is the equivalent to the Performance Preset on DLSS and FRS, you CANNOT see the difference between it and Native resolution.
I'll provide more in-depth testing and comparisons in subsequent posts, but here are some preliminary results here:
The following frames are taken in-engine, with an output resolution of: 2560x1440.
Frame 1: Native Resolution (100%)
Frame 2: Unity's STP (50% of Native)
Frame 3: Unity's STP (33% of Native)
I'll try some comparisons with DLSS and FSR on some more realistic HDRP sample scenes in subsequent posts, with perhaps a public build if you guys are interested in checking it out on your systems.

👨💻The developer experience with PolySpatial has improved significantly over the last few weeks. It works VERY reliably.
We can now even use actual SwiftUI components and interact with our Unity PolySpatial scene! Also, my incremental build only takes 16 seconds?!🤯 Insane!

features play-to-device are why I'm so bullish on Unity and PolySpatial for AVP dev. It's basically play-in-reality.
Look at those realtime reflections and IBL! And look at that perf!
Native dev has many benefits but XCode has NOTHING on this kind of tooling and rapid iteration
