We might not be rich, but we aren't that smart either, so it's all good. TL;DR before the long story: A core team member who kept this project afloat since the CTO, paid for boosts, and threw $10K+ of his own money into it, just got scammed by a big KOL. He sent the KOL a chunk of his own supply to distribute among other big players for promo. Instead, the KOL blocked him and dumped everything.
