We just raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation to build @daytonaio into the Agent Cloud.
@FirstMarkCap led the round, with all key existing investors and angels doubling down.
We're also thrilled to welcome the founders of some generational companies aboard, including @patrickc (Stripe), @tobi (Shopify), @AravSrinivas (Perplexity), @BrendanFoody (Mercor), @oliveur (Datadog), @adamdangelo (Quora) and @ericsyuan (Zoom)
We're a 35-person team. But that's about to change; we're hiring across the board, and we'd love for you to join us.

‼️ BREAKING: Unauthenticated attackers are hijacking Plex Media Servers.
Exploit code was published on GitHub on 16 October, immediately after exploitation in the wild began.
A researcher reports a honeypot running Plex was turned into a crypto miner and a proxy.
Is it possible? that the git bs is at its end? all the atomic commits, rebaseing, squashing and rest of the feel good busywork is at the end?
No more let me write a goddamn novel in a commit message of 5 lines because look at how good i am?
I doubt is, but lets see
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

No, just as I didn't steal a job from the steno pool when I started coding.
Software Development isn't about coding; it's about making the machine DO what you WANT and NEED it to do, no matter what path gets you there.
When I was 12 and discovered BASIC, I wasn't suddenly stoked that I'd be able to type to a computer for the next 40 years.
The rush came from making the computer do something specific that I envisioned. In my case, it was Blackjack.
Even then I wasn't "programming in BASIC", I was making Blackjack. It was bringing the vision to life.
Same with Task Manager. I spent months writing the original. TMOG is vastly more complicated and took slightly less time than hand-coding the original.
It was still the same old process for me:
1) Pick an outcome
2) Imagine the building blocks needed
3) Create the blocks
4) Stack 'em!
If Step3 is prompting instead of coding, it doesn't confront me.

so many of you claim to be obsessed with code quality and say you're capable of producing incredible stuff i'd never believe
you should be going crazy with agents right now. refactor everything. everyone is incompetent except you, rewrite their code
you're so good please we need you

We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration.
The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.
Anyone who has tried to use those "good, established, distributed projects" for serious work knows how much effort it takes. I would rather pay for my office license than have to suffer through LibreOffice, OpenOffice, *office and Thunderbird.
Now, if on the other hand this is a question of why would anyone spend their money on this, instead of donating it to existing projects... the answer will be even less palatable
Why? Why spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on slop tokens when you could direct the same effort and tokens at good, established, distributed projects like LibreOffice, Gimp, Kdenlive, Thunderbird, etc etc
My hunch is that this is pure clout chasing and they have zero interest in actually maintaining the software past its slop-formation
hmm something os not right here @ClaudeDevs on Wednesday the weekly reset happened, last night i was on 80% of weekly usage… opus 5.5 doing nothing crazy, and not
hitting the session limits
