Thank you to CBS Sunday Morning for covering the important topic of pedestrian safety and for traveling to Indianapolis to learn about my efforts as a member of the @IndyCouncil to make lasting improvements.
More than 7,500 pedestrians were killed by a vehicle in 2022, the highest number in 40 years. But experts say, more than the design of vehicles, the design of the roads themselves is to blame for the alarming rise in pedestrian fatalities. cbsn.ws/3PQnsAw

Much of my history research revolves around waterways, and how they have impacted Indy, and vice versa. However, I don’t have any posts about the 1913 flood. Instead, here is a history of Rocky Ripple, one of the areas impacted by the flood of 2026. class900indy.com/post/the-fo…

With many Indianapolis-area schools back in session this week, members of IMPD’s Traffic Unit conducted a back-to-school enforcement blitz on Tuesday morning near Kessler Boulevard E. Drive and Crittenden Avenue. Officers focused on speeding, school zone compliance, and hazardous driving during morning drop-off hours. The goal of this blitz was simple: -Increase visibility in school zones -Remind drivers to slow down -Help ensure students and families travel safely as they return to class Please keep our students in mind during your commute and stay alert in school zones.

I am extremely disappointed with the Metropolitan Development Commission's decision to approve the DC Blox variance petition earlier this afternoon. I firmly believe that the petitioner did not and has not satisfied the legal requirement to approve the petition.

At Monday's Metropolitan and Economic Development Committee meeting, I fully support the Council President's amendment to establish a moratorium on data center approvals while we continue evaluating the best path forward for our city.

In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. #MagnificaHumanitas vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

We are grateful to share that the IMPD officer who was shot yesterday while bravely serving our community was released from the hospital today. The officer was surrounded by fellow officers and dedicated medical staff who provided exceptional care and support throughout his recovery in the hospital. While the healing journey is just beginning, we remain incredibly proud of this officer and all of our officers for their courage, resilience, and steadfast commitment to the people of Indianapolis.

On the track or in a neighborhood, road safety is a shared responsibility. 🏁 @IndyCar driver @AlexPalou knows the best drivers in the world don’t drive distracted — and you shouldn’t, either.
