Spoke with Canadian Blood Services. I’m told there is no emergency blood drive currently in Wainwright but they are taking appointments starting Tuesday in Edmonton. There has been an outpouring of support to offer blood and O positive and O negative blood is the most versatile and in high demand. If you can give please call +1 (888) 236-6283 Thank you everyone for your prayers and for being there for our men and women in uniform at this difficult time.

On another note, check in on people. The world is small and the trauma and grief over this tragedy extends far past Wainwright. Make sure those around you are doing good and managing this, especially as we head into the holiday season. Again, I will always be available.
For those who wamt to keep track of official announcements and resources, our live thread is still being updated as we get information. To address from yesterday, we have elected not to include rumors or speculation in the thread, and will not be reporting on speculation.

Met a guy at the bar last night that works as a long-haul trucker. He said he's barely getting by. The Iran War has pushed up his fuel costs. His back hurts, but he has no healthcare. Even worse, AI might automate his job. I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Donald Trump has a poll on whether we should rename Artificial Intelligence to Superior Intelligence." Then this big strong guy who never cries. He said. He said to me, "Thank you President Trump. Thank you." And he burst out crying.

If Canada becomes an affiliate member of the European Union, this could deepen problems for US companies already hurt by the US-Canada trade war. Let me show you how. Consider these two comparable products. On the left, we see a pair of jeans from 3sixteen (a US company and one of my favorite denim brands). These jeans are cut and sewn in San Francisco using Japanese denim, and they retail for about $270. On the right, we see a pair of jeans from Nudie, a Swedish company. These are also made from Japanese denim, but they were cut and sewn in Italy. Retail price is $280. At the moment, US tariffs on Canadian imports have caused Canada to do the same in retaliation. Additionally, Donald Trump and members of his administration, such as Pete Hegseth, feel the need to constantly insult Canadians for some reason. This political fallout has caused two things. First, it has raised the cost of bringing US-made products into Canada. Second, it has caused Canadians to boycott US-made goods. Andrew Chen, co-founder of 3sixteen, tells me that he's seen his long-time Canadian retail partners cut back on orders. Not only are their margins tighter, but customers are coming into the stores and explicitly saying they won't buy US-made products. Plus, Chen says his own margins are tighter, as he now has to pay more to bring in Japanese denim. If the coming EU-Canada deal further reduces trade barriers for European goods, Canadian retailers may find it easier and cheaper to bring Nudie's Italian-made jeans into their stores — and their customers will be more receptive to buying them. This, in turn, could mean that European companies will take market share that previously belonged to Americans. Fewer orders means less production, which in translates to fewer jobs. This story isn't just about expensive jeans. The same logic applies to US spirits, furniture, and cosmetics — all products that have found meaningful markets in Canada. This switch could have long-lasting ramifications, as consumer habits end to be sticky. Once someone switches away from US goods and towards European ones, they may be reluctant to go back, even if national relations have been repaired. Of course, Americans could pick up the shortfall by purchasing US-made products. But I personally don't see that happening. If US consumers buy US-made jeans, they are more likely to buy the downmarket $60-$100 ones, rather than the premium $270+ ones. That means shifting the industry downstream, where wage growth is lower and production is even more likely to be automated.

A friend of mine works in AI and thinks bad things are about to happen. He sold his home and moved his family out the country. He said if you own a home in a walkable San Francisco neighborhood near a taqueria with good veggie options, you should sell your home right now.

On 9/11 I was working as an ER resident in Montreal. 5 of us friends decided to just drive to Ground Zero. We offered our medical assistance - as Canadians. Traffic went the other way. I'd still do anything for Americans facing that kind of carnage. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

I've seen the kind of wheelchairs @ZacksJerryRig makes. They're built like tanks. Any help here Jerry?
This family has already been through HELL. Their beautiful little girl Dalilah was nearly killed, and while she continues to recover and endure surgeries, her parents have become fierce warriors for justice—traveling all the way to Washington to testify before Congress so another family doesn’t suffer what theirs has. And THIS is how @AmericanAir handled Dalilah’s custom pediatric wheelchair? Her parents repeatedly told airline personnel: IT DOES NOT FOLD. DO NOT TAKE IT APART. They did it anyway. Now her wheelchair is destroyed. This isn’t luggage. This is a child’s mobility. Her independence. Her ability to function. This family cannot simply go buy another custom wheelchair—and after damage like this, they should not be expected to trust a repair. @AmericanAir, replace Dalilah’s wheelchair. Immediately. Don’t make this family fight another battle they never should have had to fight. foxnews.com/politics/dad-gir…

This race-obsessed crackpot is dishonouring the sacred memory and enormous sacrifice of Sikhs in the Imperial Army during the Great War. British Army records confirm that 22% of the Indian Army was made up of Sikhs at the outset of the War, even though Sikhs were only 2% of the Indian population. An estimated 100,000 Sikhs served in active combat roles, including in France, Belgium, Gallipoli, Mesopotamia, Egypt, and East Africa. Thousands made the ultimate sacrifice. They were widely regarded as amongst the bravest troops in the Imperial Army. Their service is an important historic reference point for young Sikhs in Canada to renew the proud Sikh military tradition in the Canadian Armed Forces. So why the need to diminish and dishonour them? news-archive.hud.ac.uk/news/…
There were less than 2,500 active combat troops in Sikh regiments on the Western front during WW1 and all were commanded by ethnically British officers.

Very sad for the 18 lives lost this morning when President Trump’s motorcade attempted to drive across Lake America. Our country was spared a national tragedy today only through the fast thinking of Natalie Harp who was waiting in the President’s trunk with an air tank when the cars began to fill with water. President Trump has blamed Canada and ANTIFA for the incident.
