The question is not if AI is conscious, if it will be the salvation or damnation of humanity, but is the question of if we will choose to own and posses this intellgecnce directly, or if others will weild it over us.

Vora unveiled Aegis, an open-source AI hardware device designed to keep your data private and local.
First public demo at @PresidioBitcoin.
It has been a long road, but what @Erikcason and @jesseposner have built over the last year while working @PresidioBitcoin truly is the world's most loyal AI.
Check out the video below to learn more details.

What? No way.
Who could have ever seen this coming from the same guy who has been stealing your data for more than 20 years?
Color me shocked.
In a completely unsurprising turn of events, Meta's Muse AI is stealing Apple Messages, past and present, and uploading the contents to its cloud, even if explicitly told not to. By @Amber_M_Neely

Last week we wrote about the architecture of invisibility, and how it is used to control you beneath your threshold of awareness.
This week: how we return from it, and how what we are building at Vora is designed to address it.
🧵:
Now the honest part:
decentralization is not always better.
The lonely sovereign with perfect privacy and no community is not free. They are isolated.
Sovereignty without solidarity is a different kind of prison. I have watched it happen in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin did not kill the banks. It proved the thesis. A network that survived state hostility and has not gone down once since 2013.
The architecture is what survives. The network is what compounds.
Build it or watch someone else build it around you.

Join the waitlist: Vora, personal AI that is private, powerful, and owned by you.
Vora Aegis brings the power of open-source AI directly into your home, with plug and play simplicity.
Who holds the record of what you think?
For all of history the answer was you. Your memory. Your journal. Your keys. Your Mind.
Today an AI polishes your thoughts, keeps the transcript, and answers to someone else.
The oldest question of freedom has changed hands.
When an exchange collapses, or a HW is faulty; you know you lost your coins.
When your memory is edited or new information is inserted, there is no record to check, just a suspicion that it was somehow different than before.
You can always earn back your money.
But when we don't see the memory edits there is no pain, because you cannot earn back a thought you don't know you lost.
This is what the invisible architecture of AI feels like.
