They used to call him Seamus of the Emerald Vault.
For three hundred years he sat at the end of every rainbow, guarding the last true pot of gold left in the mortal world. Green coat, buckled shoes, the whole tired cliché. He was good at it too. No human ever walked away with more than a single coin and a headache.
Then the war came.
A rival clan of shadow-leprechauns from the Black Bogs wanted the vault. The fight lasted seven nights and seven days under a blood-red moon. Seamus lost an eye to a rusty horseshoe and took a blade across the mouth that never quite stopped leaking luck. When the smoke cleared, the vault was gone, his coat was in tatters, and the rainbow itself had been cracked like a broken pipe.
He should have faded.
Instead he found the Golden Bong.
It was waiting for him in the ruins of an old fairy forge, forged from every pot of gold that had ever been stolen and never returned. The chamber was packed with mushrooms that grew only where rainbows die. One hit and Seamus understood: gold was never the treasure. The high was.
He crowned himself that night with the last pieces of his old vault. The red gems still remember the blood. The stitches over his left eye never healed because he never wanted them to. Every time he winks now, another mortal somewhere in the world finds a twenty on the sidewalk or a green candle they didn’t expect.
He no longer hides the gold.
He smokes it.
Rainbow vapor curls from the golden chamber like a living banner. Those who hold his likeness say the smoke sometimes spells their ticker symbols in the air. Those who don’t believe him usually change their minds after the first unexpected airdrop.
Seamus doesn’t grant wishes anymore.
He grants vibes.
Catch him if you can.
Just don’t ask what’s in the bong.
Some secrets are better left rainbow-colored.
