A Titled Igbo Woman of the Niger, 1897
Behold a rare 19th-century photograph capturing a titled Igbo woman from Ndoni, present-day Rivers State, Nigeria, taken between 1897 and 1899. Her regal posture, adorned in traditional wrappers and elaborate coral beads, speaks volumes of her status, influence, and the rich heritage of her people.
The Ndoni people are part of the greater Ndi Osimili, “People of the River Niger”, known for their deep-rooted cultural identity and ancestral connection to the vast Niger River. Traditionally farmers, fishermen, and skilled traders, the Ndoni thrived along these riverbanks, practicing crafts like pottery, weaving, and blacksmithing, skills passed down through generations.
Historically linked to Anioma and other Igbo subgroups such as Ikwerre, Ika, and Ngwa, the Ndoni people share linguistic and cultural ties with their Igbo brethren spread across the Niger Delta and beyond. Their society recognized not just titled men, but also powerful women who earned respect and influence, guardians of customs, storytellers, and preservers of heritage.
This rare image is a timeless reminder of the elegance, strength, and dignity of Igbo women, matriarchs who stood tall as symbols of resilience and cultural pride in the face of change.

Breaking news yorugba ritualist caught with baby which he intend using for money rituals..he's currently at ilupeju police station 😩😩😫 @trigottista @Hhonor_ @Eze__ugo @YDiegot55901 @Missgeey_
THE REVERSE IS THE CASE.
Nothing unsettles a Yoruba man more than an Igbo man who is unapologetically conscious of his Igbo identity, history, and heritage, especially one from the South-South who knows exactly who he is and refuses to be defined by anyone else.

IHE (Light) presents the eye not merely as an organ of sight, but as the symbol of living, knowing, and enlightenment. In Igbo thought, to live is to see, experience in Igbo language is ahụmahụ (to see repeatedly), love is ịhụnanya (to deeply behold another), and the heavy weight of what one has lived through is captured in ahụsịala m anya ("I have seen a lot") a truth even the blind speak when they have been through the deep trials of life. Here, the eye is the point of all human experience, clearing our inner vision so we can know better and step into the light. This work uses the eye as a vessel of inner light, clearing our vision to truly know and experience life.

The gig is to drop posts that make it look like Peter Obi isn't campaigning. The idea is that when they've rigged the election, they use the posts to reinforce the narrative that Peter Obi wasn't serious with the election.
Your fellow Nigerians who complain about rising cost of living daily, including some of your beloved influencers, are taking this gig because, to them, nothing else matters besides "securing the bag," a bag that comes with a gaping hole.
Mind you, it's the same Peter Obi who has been all over the country since 2022 consistently spreading his message of hope, and there hasn't been a single day when he wasn't somewhere engaging ordinary Nigerians.
Despite APC openly and brazingly engaging the services of non-state actors to stifle opposition, thrash opposition campaign banners, plus other undemocratic actions, your influencers are taking gigs to make this appear like a lack of seriousness or preparedness on Peter Obi's part.
Well, thankfully, life has gone fully digital and we don't need a physical billboard or posters to spread the message of Peter Obi; but let the APC be very aware that they do not possess the monopoly of violence.
That said, please vote NDC to restore our democracy. Vote a ticket that cares about you

"Igbos are not united"
But they are united in rejecting Islam. They also united in rejecting Tinubu.
Many popular anti-Igbo rhetoric are just projections.
