One thing I’ve learned today is that a LOT of Airbnb hosts haven’t realized they’re actually in the hospitality industry, not the real estate industry.

Two tweets together in my timeline. We already sort of live under universal high income and basically nobody appreciates it or even feels like it's true.

It was theft. Everyone knew it. Go into a store selling DVDs (rare now). Grab half the stock. Leave w/out paying. What is it? Theft.
Perfect example of “nobody cares if you were right if you happened to be right years before they realized.” People just move on and act like they never disagreed. The musicians who pandered to fans by making fun of his response helped facilitate the downfall of their own industry

In May 2000, Metallica's Lars Ulrich delivered 13 boxes to Napster's office. Inside were the screen names of 335,435 users who had shared the band's songs for free. Napster agreed to block them. To many, it looked like Metallica against its own fans. In the video below, Ulrich explains why he did it. "Napster hijacked our music without asking." It started with a leak. Unfinished versions of "I Disappear," a song for Mission: Impossible 2, were already playing on US radio. The band traced them to Napster. On April 13, 2000, Metallica sued. In 48 hours, Ulrich said, over 300,000 users made 1.4 million free downloads of its music. Napster said it stored no songs and only connected users. Fans called it sharing. Ulrich rejected the word. "If I share a sandwich with you, I'm left with half a sandwich." That September, Napster's founder, Shawn Fanning, walked onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in a Metallica T-shirt. He said he had borrowed it from a friend. Metallica and Napster settled in July 2001. That same month, Napster's free service went dark. In 2003, Apple opened the iTunes Store at 99 cents a song. Thirteen years later, Ulrich put it this way: "It's not about money. It's about control." He knows how he will be remembered: "It'll be in the first five sentences of my obituary." So was Metallica protecting its music, or turning on its own fans?

The Taliban provided better training in firearm safety than the literal UK police. The reason why you are facing backlash is because someone who is supposed to be trusted to handle a firearm proficiently is so poorly trained but you took the pic and hit post.
Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has responded to the unacceptable online abuse directed at a Met officer who received an award at yesterday's annual Police Federation Conference. PC Fiona Shaik Umar was recognised for the outstanding contribution she has made for women in policing.

The vast majority of criticism was not because she is Muslim, but because she was not following very basic gun safety rules. Her finger was on the trigger and she pointed the barrel of the gun at a fellow officer. gunsafetyrules.nra.org hunter-ed.com/muzzleloader/s… x.com/BasilTheGreat/… x.com/WilkieisBack66… x.com/LozzaFox/statu…

You have to stop this stuff right in its tracks. I don't merely "guide" my children. In dozens of critically important ways I am *completely in control* of what they can and can't do. You have to state this plainly!
Replying to @diecou @Antweegonus
Parents guide their children, absolutely. But being a child doesn’t mean their feelings and boundaries should be ignored. You can encourage affection without forcing it. Teaching respect starts at home.

The gay mafia is no joke. Those male escorts may have hated him, but nobody outed him until he dropped dead. You never see that kind of professionalism with foids.
⚡️🇺🇸🇮🇱 BREAKING At least four male escorts (including a transgender) have come out claiming that Pro Israel senator Lindsey Graham paid them for sexual intercourse. Before he died, Lindsey Graham was known as the biggest Zionist in the GOP.

Fluffy Cannot lose the weight. It’s his livelihood and persona !
Gabriel Iglesias was on Ozempic for about five months. His description is the most honest one I’ve heard. It worked almost too well. He’d look at food and feel nothing, not disgust, just “I’m good.” The weight came off. But he watched his shoulders disappear with it. A strong guy, losing the strength he was proud of. Add the constant nausea, and he quit. The moment he stopped, 20 pounds came back almost immediately. And here’s the twist: years earlier, he says Ozempic offered him a million-dollar deal to be the face of the brand. He turned it down. That’s the part nobody puts in the commercial. The drug turns off your hunger. It doesn’t protect your muscle, and it doesn’t fix whatever was driving the eating in the first place.

vivek really thought because he worked in a more libertarian/liberal tech sector, he was one of them. obama and mamdani understand that you can be friends, marry and even have a family with white america. but you can't go overboard with your tone.
Something Obama understood when he was facing off with Hillary is you as a minority dude have to be very careful about personally attacking a white woman. Vivek just doesn’t seem that savvy about politics.

This is a REAL article on a website. It makes me feel sick: “increasingly these encounters result in a shared apartment, a mixed-race child, a new surname, and a happy future. A quiet revolution is taking shape across Europe and North America… “Once I introduced Karim to my parents, he wasn’t ‘a Syrian refugee’ anymore,” says Julia, a 32-year-old nurse in Stuttgart. “He was just someone who slapped my butt while I was out shopping groceries. He simply didn’t know how else to get my attention at the time.”
