That's why her best role was Savathun. And she clearly never had a problem disappearing into a role, so it does feel like this trend is an industry driven one and less actor ego. Like I never thought it was actors demanding the characters look just like them and always the industry itself, deciding it wanted to be more like the movies. They wanted the 'actors' to be selling points, not the characters they play.
Debra Wilson admitted that using her face for Callisto in "Wolverine" was a mistake But the decision is always up to the developers: "That choice is made by the game designers, not me. I like games where my face is not used." Debra herself believes that if the character is you, it only hinders the immersion into the role.

Random battles are good.
Chrono Trigger gave you 13 endings, zero random encounters, and combo techs in 1995 — while your favorite RPG still makes you watch a loading screen to fight a rat. 30 years later and the whole genre is still chasing the Epoch.
