In VelaTerm, you can now easily view currently running background tasks directly within the session window.

In the VelaTerm right-side panel, you can now directly view the number of files modified during the current turn.

Claude has launched its "Projects" feature, but VelaTerm has actually had a similar mechanism for quite some time—and, in fact, our project and sessions management capabilities are even more comprehensive.

🚀 VelaTerm v0.2.8 — 2026-10-06 - 🪟 Windows: returning to the window leaves keyboard focus where it is when it is already inside the page. - 🛡️ Windows: Huorong antivirus no longer flags VelaTerm and vela-server as `Trojan/MSIL.ShellLoader.q`. This was a false positive: to run shell commands from the conversation view, VelaTerm created each process in a suspended state and then resumed it, a sequence of calls that malware also uses to inject code. Codex is a massive disaster; you really shouldn't use it to write production code.

🚀 VelaTerm v0.2.6 — 2026-09-30 - 🐧 The Linux version is now built on Electron. The AppImage keeps its file name and your data, no longer requires WebKitGTK or libfuse2, and existing installations update to it through the built-in updater. - 🛰️ Machines that cannot be reached over SSH, such as WSL on another computer or a Docker container, can join your account after installing `vela-server` with a single command, and then appear in the Remote list for AI chat. Once the owner grants full access on the host, the desktop app can also use its terminal, files, and Git panel. - 📂 Folders dragged onto the sidebar from Finder, File Explorer, or a Linux file manager are added as projects. - 📝 The Markdown editor adds Typora-style shortcuts for headings, lists, code blocks, and tables, automatic pairing of brackets and quotes, Cmd/Ctrl+click to follow links, focus and typewriter modes, and word and character counts in the status bar.
