I presented our Q4 infrastructure budget to the executive board this morning. They asked why I requested $15K for a biometric stabilization pod. I didn't flinch. I projected a slide that just had a single red triangle on it. I told them human error is responsible for 90% of all data breaches. I explained that the IT department operates at a highly elevated cognitive frequency. When our cortisol levels spike, our response times drop, leaving the perimeter vulnerable to zero-day exploits. I said the biometric stabilization pod is a non-negotiable asset for maintaining continuous uptime. The CFO asked what exactly the pod does. I looked him dead in the eye and said it initiates a zero-gravity kinetic realignment. It's a massage chair. I bought a top-of-the-line zero-gravity massage chair and put it in Server Room A. It has built-in Bluetooth speakers and a heated lumbar roller. I spend 3 hours a day in it listening to historical podcasts while my 2008 PowerShell scripts do my job. The board unanimously approved the expense. They even thanked me for being so forward-thinking about occupational health. If you ask for a massage chair, you get fired. If you ask for a biometric stabilization pod, you get a round of applause. Jargon is the ultimate corporate cheat code. I'm going to take a 45-minute zero-gravity nap right after lunch.

Pro tip: if you've got some sort of cron job executed by many services, add jitter to the start time "Every 5 minutes" seems OK until you're absolutely nuking your DB/backend/API providers It also makes autoscaling harder due to spiky traffic patterns
