Cortisol is always discussed as a “stress hormone.” That description isn’t entirely wrong, but it's very incomplete. Cortisol’s more fundamental role is metabolic adaptation. It helps maintain fuel availability by increasing blood glucose through gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, while also promoting the release of fatty acids from adipose tissue. In short, it is one of the body’s primary tools for buffering against low energy availability. Temporary elevations in cortisol—during exercise, a period of fasting, exposure to cold, or the normal morning cortisol awakening response—are not pathological. They are part of healthy metabolic flexibility. These short-lived rises help ensure glucose and other fuels remain available when demand increases or intake is reduced. This distinction matters when people worry about the cortisol response to exercise, cold, sauna, or similar. A rise in cortisol during or after these activities is expected, adaptive, and essential. It is part of the beneficial physiological stress that, over time, improves metabolic resilience. Chronic elevation or true endocrine disorders of excess cortisol are an entirely different situation. Conflating the two leads people to pathologize normal, healthy responses.

The official story of alpha-gal syndrome is tidy. A lone star tick bites you, and months later you can no longer eat red meat. Tidy stories should make you suspicious. Here is what the tidy version leaves out. 🧵

So tragic and so avoidable.😢 Vital nutrients are called vital because they're not optional. B12 is one of these and it's found in animal foods.

“I’m 23 years old… and my clitoris is completely numb, like the back of my elbow. I can’t orgasm. I can’t feel love for my own mother. I can’t even enjoy music anymore.” That was Laureen Friedman’s raw testimony at a recent Safety Advocates on Mental Health Care panel. She lives with PSSD — Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. After taking Zoloft, she woke up one day with total genital numbness, zero libido, permanent inability to orgasm, and a sudden emotional numbness she describes as “chemical castration” and an “emotional lobotomy.” What used to be a deeply emotional, empathetic, songwriting young woman now feels disconnected from the core human experiences of love and pleasure. She says she was never warned this could happen even after stopping the drug. Millions are prescribed SSRIs every year, often without being told about rare but potentially permanent side effects like PSSD. People deserve full informed consent about what they’re risking. Have you or anyone you know experienced lasting sexual or emotional side effects from antidepressants?

Whoops! I just caught "the algorithm" decrementing the view count! X just chisels away at the metadata like a hungry rodent, never expecting to get caught. But it usually gets caught anyway. (We can't really have free speech when users desperately need protection from "misinformation", can we now.)

A sad day for Germany 🇩🇪. 5.000 US 🇺🇸 troops will leave my country. They defended us for 7 decades and they never misused their power (unlike the Soviets). They acted disciplined and friendly. They taught us a lot. The U.S. is like a big brother for Germany. But the U.S. administration is right: Germany can stand on its own feed nowadays. The U.S. needs its resources to deter China 🇨🇳. And one day, when we Europeans are strong enough we will do so as well. Thank you American soldiers for your service for liberty and peace in Europe. 🇩🇪 🇺🇸🇪🇺

Switzerland is turning the unused space between train tracks into solar power plants. A startup called Sun-Ways is piloting removable solar panels that roll out like a carpet between the rails. No new land needed, easy to maintain, and they feed clean energy straight into the grid. If the US scaled something similar across its massive rail network, it could generate enough clean, homegrown electricity to power millions of homes. This is the kind of smart, low-impact idea that gets more clean energy online without paving over more fields or wild spaces. Innovations like this show we can produce the power we need while leaving more room for wildlife and nature. Pretty cool engineering with a big upside if you ask me.

Hungary two weeks after the election - updated list: 1. the first LGBTQ flag was hoisted in Budapest. 2. „Rainbow TV“ is launching to indoctrinate children. 3. The veto on the €90M to Ukraine was lifted 4. Appointed LGBTQ activist as Minister of Education to „reform“ the education system. This is for all those who said: „Peter Magyar really tricked the EU, he is further right than Orban“ I told you he was a globalist sell-out. hungarytoday.hu/peter-magyar…

Currently on X, the biggest, hardest working creators are paying the platform to discriminate against us @nikitabier? Respectfully how is this fair? secondly, if the big accounts, which people obviously enjoy and trust lose faith and stop how is that good for the platform. We've worked really hard to grow our audiences, now were seeing that that very audience doesn't matter?

The EU age verification app was hackable by design — it trusted the device (that's instant game over). But don’t rush to laugh at EU bureaucrats. All they needed was another excuse to erode our freedoms. This “surprising hack" just handed it to them. Stay vigilant.

Japan ate 6.4 kg of meat per person in 1961 — and 35.5 kg by 2013. In that same window, stroke mortality dropped 85%. Heart disease did not rise. The country that added the most animal protein in Asia got healthier. Here is what nobody put on the poster.
