ALT Bingo: Stuff you hear when you're chronically ill. Row 1: You don't look sick. You're too young to be this sick. It's all in your head. It's just anxiety. You were fine yesterday. Row 2: Have you tried yoga? Just stop thinking about it. Free space. It could be worse. When are you getting better? Row 3: Must be nice to stay in bed all day. You're just being lazy. I couldn't live like that. Just wait until you're my age! Everyone gets tired.

ALT Ways to stay hydrated with POTS: Have a large glass of fluids when you wake up. Also have a drink when you eat. Use a water bottle that tracks how much you drink. Drink electrolyte drinks, like Vitassium DrinkMix. Drink other fluids you like, like broth or pickle juice. Eat hydrating foods like certain produce or popsicles. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which can cause dehydration. Set reminders or use an app to remind you to drink. Your provider may recommend IV fluids.

ALT December 3 is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 15% of the world population, or about 1 billion people, has a disability. 10% of people in the U.S. have an "invisible" disability. 10.1% of disabled people in the U.S. were unemployed in 2021, compared to 5.1% of non disabled people. 32% of disabled people feel there is a lot of prejudice around disabled people. ALT Constantly running a marathon no matter what I’m doing. Like you’ve both been heavily sedated and have adrenaline pulsing through you. Being both drunk and hungover. Like standing in a canoe in the middle of the ocean during a hurricane, and you’re trying not to fall out.

ALT Like having the flu, a panic attack, and motion sickness at once. Imagine going 48 hours without food or water, and spin around in circles. Like a bag of rocks is placed on top of your head when you stand up. Your body has a hate-hate relationship with gravity. Like my head has been in a blender.
