"Happy 18 May! Three and a half decades of peace and self-reliance have made Somaliland a destination worth discovering. Proud to celebrate with our diaspora in Nairobi."
After 35 years of resilience, hard work, and unwavering hope, the dawn of recognition is finally breaking.
If Somaliland is fighting a war, it is not one of bullets and blood—it is a war against war itself, against the grip of poverty, and against the shadows of illiteracy.
Let the world hear this truth: our battle is for books, bread, and dignity.
Congratulations to my people across the globe—your patience has planted a legacy, and your hope has harvested honor.

🕌 Historic Ottoman-Era Mosque in Berbera, Somaliland
This beautiful mosque, built in 1840 by the Ottoman Empire, stands as one of the oldest surviving landmarks in Berbera City. Its elegant domes and stone architecture tell the story of centuries of faith, trade, and cultural exchange along Somaliland’s Red Sea coast.
Though weathered by time, it remains a symbol of Berbera’s rich Islamic and architectural heritage — a reminder of our deep historical connections to the wider Muslim world.
