I haven’t announced it on here yet, but in November I’ll host an event with Yuri Kasparyan of Kino (Viktor Tsoi) in Fukuoka. It’s free and anyone can join! It’ll be his first time in Japan and first open event in English.
Back from Mongolia. Every single white person I saw in Ulaanbaatar had some kind of safari/exploration outfit on, with sports backpacks, no matter the age. Do you think you're coming to a modern city of 1.8m people, and it will be rough terrain with only gers and animals?

Time to rebrand “Latin America” as “America (excluding USA and Canada)”.
Then eventually America becomes the standard for Latin America (where the majority of the people on the American continent live), and you need to specify USA whenever talking about the US.
Eu sou brasileira e super fã de Kino e do Viktor Tsoi. Fui em São Petersburgo visitar os lugares, fui no show deles na Tailândia também. Super recomendo!
Of course everything in Japan is cheaper, just compare national salaries. To me, the main difference is just the culture around the events. Japan runs everything not for profit, while the US does for profit+
The regular booth at a Japanese event has a handful of products, sometimes just 2 or 3 doujin. Because the table fee is low, so people can do it just for fun. Meanwhile in the US the table fee is high and that leads to the need for profit. To change this, one side needs to budge.
First building is the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and walking around there feels like a different world. I love brutalism done right.

When you meet your favourite 60 year old soviet musician but you’ve also been living in Japan for 7 years
Then there’s me, the most awkward person in social situations in Brazil, and in Japan everyone says I’m a natural speaker and extrovert 😭
Recently found out that my hate for networking (why would I need to “befriend” someone I am not personally interested in just to have them as a work connection? Sounds like using people) is a very autistic trait and yep, that checks 🤓
