One of the common justifications I hear for the Presidentās deplorable behavior is that heās just trolling his opponents. He doesnāt really mean it, and we shouldnāt take him so seriously.
What those who make such claims donāt realize is that theyāre essentially describing this guy:
āLike a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, āI am only joking!āā (Proverbs 26:18ā19)
Even if it's true about Trump, it doesnāt strike me as much of a consolation.

One thing about Trump is that almost every day he presents his supporters with an off-ramp. Every day he says or does something that allows decent people to say, "Ok, that's enough. I'm out."
The fact that so few people have taken those off-ramps has been a sign of strength. But as MAGA cracks, those off-ramps will become a weakness. Every day he'll give people looking for an excuse to leave all the reason they need.
