One world-class pass from Armstrong, one world-class miss from Barry, it’s like they’ve never been away #EFC

This week’s column on Everton, a wonderful club that deserved so much better than an owner who put his tee time first. The Friedkins aren’t the worst of owners in the Premier League but they share the worst trait - indifference.

I spent years exposing Man City's cheating while their plutocratic regime believed they could get away with it all. While my wife lay dying, these are the threats, ugly tactics and intimidation the club and their fans used against me, writes NICK HARRIS trib.al/wPeFRFL
Someone at RBGC can’t add up. An iconic moment for sure, but it happened in 1969, so 57 rather than 63 years ago
When did Tottenham and Arsenal last concede 3 (or more) each on the same day? Any stattos out there…?
Very happy to be wrong! Excellent 3 points and a start to the season not many predicted after that shambolic end to the transfer window. More than Kinnear and the owners deserve!
Not at the game or watching on a feed but I do know from 56 years supporting Everton that we need one more, maybe two 💙
Morning Amol. Chucking in my two-penneth, there were two Syd/Sid Barneses! The (English) one you wrote about (1873-1967) was among the greatest bowlers of his generation, while Sid Barnes (1916-1973) was an Aussie batsman. Maybe your correspondent’s been done by a ‘wrong-un’ 😉

Wish I’d known it was on!
Nothing better than the chance to raise a few quid for that brilliant hospice
Got to blether about myself and my career for two whole hours last night, in aid of the quite amazing @StMichaelsHosp. Great evening, brilliantly hosted by Moira Davidson who tells me she is now considering a sequel, to be called Brian Viner & the Holy Grail!
Unconvincing, but a few positives for EFC: decent substitutions, well-worked goal, flashes of brilliance from Dibling, reminder of O’Brien’s ability at centre-back! Negatives: Garner/KDH below par, and ‘heavy touch from Barry’ has become a commentary-box cliche
