I have interviewed 100 of the best growth leaders in the world.
@MattSwulinski is easily top 3. (alongside @alexschultz and Brian Hale)
He scaled Wispr Flow to over $100M in ARR and built a UGC machine.
He scaled Superhuman from founder personally onboarding every customer to a growth machine with $50M ARR.
If you are an early stage founder or growth leader, this will be the best episode you will listen to this year!
I condensed my biggest lessons from the discussion below:
1. The E-Commerce Playbook Is the Right Playbook for SaaS
The e-commerce playbook, where every dollar spent ties directly to a purchase or conversion, is the right model for modern SaaS. With distribution becoming a critical moat in a crowded AI market, SaaS companies should deploy UGC creators, constantly test new creative, and diversify channels to build their brand.
2. Paid Acquisition Is the Fastest Way to Validate PLG
Relying solely on organic content and word-of-mouth takes too long to validate product-market fit. Paid acquisition creates the fastest feedback loop for proving a PLG funnel works, allowing teams to test positioning, refine messaging, and optimize conversion within a single week.
3. You Only Need Three Core Channels to Scale to $10M ARR
Startups often ruin their acquisition engines by trying to run ten channels poorly at once. Reaching the first $10M in ARR only requires mastering three core channels: video intent on Meta, search intent on Google, and lifecycle retention through email and SMS.
4. Scaling Paid Ads Requires 500 New Creatives Every Single Month
On platforms like Meta, creative increasingly acts as the targeting algorithm. Scaling spend without hitting audience fatigue requires 400 to 500 new creative assets every month, produced through UGC revenue-share programs, specialized agencies, and internal teams.
5. How the Best Growth Leaders Test for True Spend Incrementally
Blindly increasing ad spend wastes money on conversions that may have happened organically. The best growth leaders measure spend elasticity against ARR growth and run strict holdout tests to determine whether each additional dollar generates genuinely incremental revenue.
6. In Three Years, Companies Will Operate Like a Board of Directors
Tech organizations are shifting away from manual execution. Within three years, lean human teams could operate more like boards of directors, spending 20% of their time on strategy while autonomous AI agents handle 80% of operational execution.
7. Fire Your Marketing Team if They Aren’t Systems Thinkers
Marketers focused on repetitive manual tasks are becoming increasingly replaceable. High-performing teams need systems thinkers who can break their work into inputs and outputs, then build self-improving AI workflows that multiply their personal leverage by 10x.

@Superhuman made me fast. @WisprFlow made me faster. Neither one made my team faster.
So I spent ten months building that part myself.
A git repo that AI agents operate, instead of a marketing stack. Started as one prompt in Claude Code last October. I pushed to it most days and I've never shipped a line of production code.
It worked. About twenty people ended up running on it. We cut roles off the hiring plan because we no longer needed them.
Here's what I got wrong. I thought that was the finish line.
The leverage only existed inside my repo, for people willing to live in a terminal. Every company that wants this has to build their own from scratch, and almost none of them will.
That isn't a systems problem. It's a product problem.
Today I joined @viktor_com full-time as Head of Growth.
Viktor is that same principle built as a product instead of a side project. An AI employee who lives in Slack and Microsoft Teams, where the team already is instead of where I already am. Every skill someone ships is usable by the whole team the moment it lands.
$75M Series A led by @Accel. I'm building the growth org from zero, and I'm hiring now.
Also: two years of Pacific hours from Europe, closing the laptop at 1am. The new office is fifteen minutes from my apartment.
If you're a marketing engineer who's tired of being the only person at your company who can run the thing you built, my DMs are open.

Introducing Project Deskless.
The simplest interface for working with agents.
Press a physical button.
Say what you want.
No looking.
No tapping.
Driving? Keep your eyes on the road.
Enjoy.
BREAKING: Recently hired Viktor (@viktor_com) CRO Robbie O'Connor joins Luke and Ronan today at 1:45PM BST.
Robbie took @NotionHQ, @asana and @Dropbox to market.
Then he took a year off, sat with Europe's top VCs, and watched the whole AI market from the investor side.
He could have joined any company in the world.
We're proud to announce he's joining viktor.com as CRO.
The playbook for taking an AI employee to market doesn't exist yet. It's weird. Huge LTV on SMBs, and volatility all over the place. Nobody has written it.
Someone has to. Robbie is that someone.
Honored to be building with this guy.

Dude.
I sent Jake (Head of Revenue) a link to Viktor on April 9 and wrote:
“I think this is the one.”
Five weeks later I wrote:
“okay cool, this is wild.”
And I mean wild.
Here’s what happened.
10:29 in the morning, we started connecting client accounts.
10:39, I made a Slack channel so we could test Viktor and keep all the notes in one place.
10:45, I asked him to build our strategy SOP.
Our actual workflow. Jake creates the campaigns and pulls the numbers.
Viktor had the context.
He built it.
Then Jake had him go through our scheduled work and figure out what was eating time for no reason.
Three active automations.
He found our weekly Fresh Chile analytics report was using a full AI agent to do work that could run as a lightweight script.
So he changed it.
He added a check to another automation so if there were no new Slack messages, nothing ran.
By 2:52 that afternoon, the work was done.
You see what’s happening here?
This thing had been in the business for a few hours and it was already cleaning up how the business worked.
I literally asked Jake if we needed to cancel our meeting.
My exact message was:
“Figured Viktor is the unlock we need to work on rn.”
Because I run an agency. I operate Shopify brands. I own a manufacturing plant. There are client accounts, reporting, creative, email, media buying, fulfillment, 100 conversations going at once.
I've generated more than $50 million in sales across brands I've owned and built.
There is always, always something sitting there that everybody knows needs to get fixed.
Then the week moves.
Then another week moves.
Viktor went into that layer and started working.
Baby.
That is when it clicked for me.
Give this thing the right access. Give it the real conversations. Give it the numbers. Let it see who owns what.
Then watch what happens.
I thought Viktor was the one on April 9.
By May 19, I knew.

I started using @viktor_com seven weeks ago, and essentially onboarded it as my "first hire" to help remove the bottlenecks around content production I hasn't been able to solve.

Viktor is the most useful ai tool I’ve used since Claude
Unbelievably good.
cold called the founder and invested 2 days after using it level good
Today, we’re announcing Viktor’s $75M Series A, led by @Accel .
@viktor_com was supposed to be a small experiment.
It became the AI coworker 10x'ing real businesses.
$15M in annualized revenue run rate. In 10 weeks.
– Small companies saving millions of dollars
– Sourcing hundreds of thousands in new revenue in their first 30 days
– Whole teams getting half their week back
– Companies running 40% leaner without cutting output
Viktor is not another AI tool.
It’s the first true AI employee.
The vision that has been with us since 2023 when we started the company has finally been shipped.
Back then, it was just the two of us, with a very small but dedicated team, iterating for years. Failing multiple times.
Showing products that users didn't even want to test!
But we never gave up.
Our decisions were often wrong. Certainly more often than not! We kept trying.
Now we’ve shipped something people love.
Worth every sleepless night. Every sacrifice.
The best employees don’t need to be told what to do.
Neither does Viktor.
Grateful to @Accel, our team, our earliest users, and everyone who believed this category could be bigger than chat.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Our biggest activation surprise this quarter is that I cannot describe our customer.
Three Viktors in production this week:
An 8-person AI newsletter has @get_viktor_com running 18 workflows for them, including a full-stack web app for tracking sales commissions. Role-based auth, multi-invoice support, auto-ingestion from two sales tools every 15 minutes. Pinned in their # commissions channel. The GM had DMed Viktor asking for help with a spreadsheet.
A $10M Shopify brand had Viktor diagnose a checkout bug that had been silently throwing errors at real customers for months. 392 network requests per page load (normal range: 50 to 80), caused by 15 stacked checkout extensions and 10 web pixels tripping Shopify's bot protection. Months of complaints. Fixed in 10 minutes.
A business coach in Brisbane has Viktor working his inbox from an iPhone at midnight. He called it the VA he could not find on Upwork.
I watch our cohort data for a living. The job is, roughly: look at the people using your product, write down a sentence about them, hand the sentence to the rest of the org so everyone can stop arguing in meetings.
We don't have the sentence.
We have a media company building production software, a DTC operator running forensics on their own checkout, and a coach with no team at all. Same product. Same week. Different jobs in different languages on different continents.
The thing that ties them is not vertical, headcount, or geography.
It is, more or less, the moment someone notices they have 30 things they would delegate if they could.
(Almost everyone, when asked, has 30 things.)
promoted @get_viktor_com to order me a weighted vest on Amazon, and it's done.
I use @get_viktor_com every day for work. It's mind-blowingly good, but I also have a personal slack instance and it does shit for me like this all the time.

I just launched an AI agent that lives in Slack and knows everything about how hampton operates for each staff member.
Playbooks. SOPs. Org structure. Member data. Metrics.
Any team member can ask it a q and get an answer in seconds instead of searching 47 Notion pages or Slacking 3 people.
It took months of openclaw frustration, Claude and perplexity experimentation to ultimately land with @get_viktor_com .
The next phase: letting it take actions, not just answer q’s. Build this dash, change this site, handle these tickets , update this record.
My ultimate goal. Never having to login to HubSpot, Notion, or Airtable again.
Every company should be building this. The ROI isn't cost savings it's the hours every employee wastes per day looking for information that already exists somewhere.
