WOW. All previous track records will be broken by this thing, and I'm not exaggerating. 🤯 Here's the Roadster Reveal highlights. It both sucks, and blows... in a way you have to see to believe. It can cling upside down to a surface, at any speed, using suction. This allows it to corner in excess of 2 Gs on a road course. For contrast, track focused exotics typically manage around 1.2 Gs. It CAN actually fly. After driving to the top of a giant inverted ramp, it hovered back down to earth. Read that again: IT HOVERED BACK DOWN TO EARTH 😂 Then it jumped over the entire Tesla car line up, including the Semi. It did a barrel roll in the air while doing it. This was done using the 10 cold gas thrusters. The car refills it's own air tanks, so you can do stunts like this repeatedly. It's 0-60 clocked in at .81 seconds, with the help of the thrusters. This is close to NHRA Top Fuel dragster territory. As promised that really was the most boring part. Top speed is currently 230 MPH but "half the speed of sound" (380 MPH) is targeted for the production car. What!? More demo stunts were promised in the future, such as a recreation of Evil Knievel's famous Snake River Canyon Jump. I'm at a loss for words...
