"Even if wrongly deleted voters are eventually reinstated, they can never recover the votes they were denied. A country that once went to extraordinary lengths to ensure all citizens could vote is now busy placing new obstacles in their way."

Important:
Here’s something that a LOT of people don’t know about what’s actually going on with Delhi Police.
CJP’s Saurav Das & Ashutosh Ranka have been sent to 2 more days of judicial custody in Tihar Jail.
By a judicial court? NO.
They have been kept in Tihar Jail for the last 6 days on the order of a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM).
Who is an SEM? He is an ACP-rank (junior) police officer of Delhi Police appointed by the state govt.
Therefore, Delhi Police arrested Saurav & Ashutosh & now a Delhi Police ACP (acting as SEM) is keeping them in jail.
There’s no FIR against them. There’s also no judicial order.
Delhi Police are the accusers & well as the judge when it comes to keeping them in jail.
That’s how messed up it is.

It’s actually crazy how you grow up thinking home-cooked meals every day are just normal, then get older and realise how much time and effort it took your Mom to make that happen and how lucky you were to have that.

Two men who punched a minor girl then dragged her onto the road, continued to hit her, and ripped her t-shirt got bail within 24 hours. Meanwhile, remand extended for two guys who waved the tricolour. 🤷♂️

People can have differences and nuanced takes on CJP but it is inexcusable to remain silent on the custody of Ashutosh and Saurav. This is an egregious violation of a citizen's liberty. Please speak up. If not on principle, than in self-interest, for this is setting a precedent.

The prolonged judicial custody of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das cannot be justified in law. I hope they are released without any further delay and more people speak up in their support.

Mumbai hasn’t even planned, let alone enforced, 10% of Delhi’s transport decarbonisation measures.
No stubble burning like North India. No major forest fires like Southeast Asia or North America.
What Mumbai has is excessive dependence on private transport, diesel-heavy HDVs, and massive port-driven truck traffic.
Yet, there is NO urgency to tackle transport emissions.

"Today Tiger Shroff, who is next?" Firing in Juhu: AICWA says government and police have failed, demands strictest action against gangsters
Mumbai: The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) is shocked and deeply anguished by the firing on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area, in which one person was hit by a bullet. Tiger Shroff, whose life could easily have been lost in the attack, narrowly escaped.
This is not an isolated incident. Shots were fired outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra. Actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in an attack at his Bandra home. Shots were fired outside the Juhu home of filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe was attacked repeatedly. Now Tiger Shroff has been fired upon. One after another, people from the film industry are being targeted, and a deliberate atmosphere of fear is being created. The intent is plain: gangsters want to terrorise Bollywood personalities and extort money from them.
"Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next? When a celebrity is not safe in the heart of Mumbai, how can an ordinary Mumbaikar feel safe?" the AICWA said.
Despite repeated incidents, the government and the police have failed to stop these attacks and to protect the people of Bollywood. Gangsters have openly claimed responsibility in earlier cases, yet the network continues to operate. Statements are not enough. Bollywood needs real protection.
Mumbai's streets are once again being stained with blood, and the situation is reminiscent of the underworld era of the 1990s. The law-and-order situation in the city is a matter of grave concern.
Today, it feels as if Bollywood is left to the mercy of God.
AICWA makes the following demands of Maharashtra's Hon'ble Chief Minister and Home Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis:
1) Take the strictest possible action against the gangsters behind these attacks, in the only language they understand.
2) Arrest the shooters and also those who ordered the firing, without delay, and break the extortion network.
3) Provide adequate security and protection to film personalities and their families.
4) Fix accountability for the repeated failure to prevent these attacks.
5) Restore the confidence of Mumbai's citizens and the film fraternity in law and order.
"Mumbai will not be allowed to go back to the underworld days of the 1990s. Bollywood will not work in the shadow of fear," the AICWA added.

What kind of Law and order is this ?? The ones who are harmless are sent to jail - the ones who are criminals are shooting innocents on the street ! A gangster who is in Jail openly threatens Bollywood and shoots at will -and we just allow fear to spread ! Who is answerable ?? @AmitShah @Dev_Fadnavis could u please address the state / city / resident of Juhu?? Or are you still worried about harmless flag walkers! #TigerShroff #shootinginJuhu

It’s been six days since this remarkable woman of Indian origin (see her story, attached) won the #NobelPeacePrize. And the Government of India, her ancestral homeland, hasn’t so much as congratulated her?! Shame on the petty men who have made such a deplorable decision.

We are definitely the only country in the world where people die in stampedes so often and still no corrective change ever happens.
Puja pandals, Kumbh mela, or even railway stations - this mass-murder technique funded by government and administrative apathy, covered-up by a criminally pliable news media, and accepted by a tired, oppressed public is a wonder possible only in the greatest civilisation on the planet.

It shatters my heart to see Kolkata, a city built on books and intellectual courage, being overrun by these illiterate goons who destroy books and disrespect iconic writers and thinkers.
Whose payroll are these people on? What a heartbreaking fall.
