The Assembly Rooms Theatre also known as Assembly Rooms Cinema Hall / Assembly Rooms Talkies, this iconic theatre is located on Garden Road, connecting Charring Cross to the Government Botanical Gardens, Ooty 🌿.
🏛️ Established in 1901, it is one of the oldest cinema theatres in the region, with a rich legacy of over a century.
🏢 Owned and operated by the Government under a trust.
🎞️ Earlier known for screening English-language films, the theatre was shut down in 2011 and later re-opened on 26th November 2015 after renovations.
🎥 Today, it mostly screens Tamil movies.

📸 My experience:
When I went on my Ooty trip last week, movies were not playing in this Theatre, so I initially went just to take pictures from outside.
But I was lucky enough to get a chance to go inside, look around, and take pictures as well.
It made me very happy to experience this beautiful heritage theatre up close ❤️🎬
♻️ One good thing I observed in Ooty theatres:
There are many dustbins placed inside the theatres, which helps keep the premises clean and neat.
A small thing, but it makes a big difference 👏✨
