Last year, I decided not to launch @opencampcc as I felt that the market didn't require another coding bootcamp - even if it is affordable with its content open sourced. After speaking with lots of folks since late last year, I believe I have found a new angle for open camp:

Despite this being a paid "course", in keeping with the ethos of open, all learning materials developed for each batch will be open sourced, so each batch contributes more and more quality learning content for everyone.

If you are interested in joining the first batch or subsequent batches, please let me know in the comments.

I know everyone is raving about @cursor_ai, but here I am really enjoying my time with @zeddotdev's Assistant Panel. Workflows + commands to insert context + different AI models is an amazing dev experience. And not forgetting the fact that the editor is super fast as well...

This! I've always kept a set of docs offline so I can code offline while using @devdocs.
This hits on a practice I’ve always recommended to people: build a list of actionable tasks, offline download the resources you need, and utilize poor internet situations as a place of extreme focus. In the early 2010s I wrote a ruby script to download all my GitHub issues, then I’d work on them offline on the airplane. I did this because airplane WiFi was really bad then and it was also pretty expensive and saving that money was meaningful to me then. But I realized quickly that it was just generally a really good practice. I’d land, push, and close a dozen or more issues. I started doing this at coffee shops and making it a point to just turn my WiFi off! I still continue to do this today. I build a list of tasks that I can complete in at most an hour. If an issue is more complex I do the planning and thinking ahead of time and break it down. Then I turn off WiFi and turn on do not disturb and get to work. I’ll turn WiFi back on between tasks. This works really well for me. I’ve shared this technique before but it’s definitely one of my best kept “open” secrets of how I get some things done so productively.

Turns out they have it now - since Jan 2024!
What do we need to do to get @htmx_org docs available on devdocs.io? More 🐴 memes?

Building @PerchLook with @htmx_org, @djangoproject, and @tailwindcss makes working on frontend so much more fun and most importantly, fast!

I'm starting a super affordable online coding bootcamp in Jan 2024: it's called @opencampcc and only costs U$660 / S$840 for the entire bootcamp. The first cohort starts in Jan 2024, but if you want to jump start on it earlier...

... we would love to have you join the beta starting in Nov 2023! It's free to participate if you (i) share your experience or connect with participants from #cohort0 next year, and (ii) give us lots of feedback on whether the materials used are helpful / too easy / too helpful.

Japanese reporter from @fujitv investigated Microsoft call center scams... and all three persons he talked to had the same name. I knew I found the name Mike Miller (マイク.ミラー) super familiar... and that is the name of a character in Minna no Nihongo series of textbook!

I'm really looking forward to new players in the code editor space. @JetBrains_Fleet and @zeddotdev are both on my list of editors to try 🤓 (once they implement a proper Vim mode, that is)
