Spent a few hours today looking at bits of crystal mush that are included in the lithic lags associated with the large caldera-forming eruptions. There are some impressive crystals @emmalouisehorn

Last week we had a great time visiting @GEO3BCN_CSIC in Barcelona and carried out some tephra sampling. 🥼🌋We also took a trip to see some of the volcanic cones of La Garrotxa.
Just back from sampling some tephra and sediment cores in Barcelona. It was great to work with the @GEO3BCN_CSIC team. Also managed to see some of the volcanic cones of La Garrotxa and the impressive @espai_crater volcano museum – at Olot, Spain
