The Perps landscape is evolving with all kinds of new experiments and innovations, and there's one project in particular that I think is worth paying attention to.
That project is Derpetual ✍️
I was probably one of the first people in the Korean community to reach out to the team directly. After putting in quite a bit of effort to connect with them through different channels, I eventually managed to become part of their Crew.
Hyperliquid has already achieved strong product-market fit (PMF) in both the L1 and Perps sectors.Meanwhile, Derpetual is currently building on Solana, developing something called an "Abstract Market Launcher."
From what I understand, the team actually turned down a grant from the Solana Foundation, which says quite a bit about their confidence in what they're building.
Personally, I think they have several interesting paths they could potentially explore in the future, whether that's expanding to other chains through oracle infrastructure, building their own chain, or pursuing entirely different directions.
What really caught my attention was the idea of "enabling anyone to create and trade markets on virtually anything abstract."
It's a genuinely interesting and relatively new concept, which was one of the reasons I became so intrigued by the project in the first place.
Another factor was its connection to the Peter Thiel Mafia, which also made me view the project quite favorably.
Apparently, something is coming soon.
Let's keep an eye on @derpetual and see how things unfold.
