Sorry to hear the horrible news about Jalen Hurts. Kenneth Walker III and Trey Smith of the Chiefs faced similarly harrowing diagnosis when they were younger. With proper treatment over time they recovered & now hope to further awareness of the issue: kansascity.com/sports/spt-co…
Early in Sunday’s game, Patrick Mahomes did “what you’re not supposed to do.” Then he did what he does best: spark a pivotal sequence and find a way to win as he continues to keep pace with Tom Brady in several ways: kansascity.com/sports/spt-co…

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Jaylon Moore has a concussion, Travis Kelce played through an ankle injury, Jalen Royals was checked for a concussion but he was OK and Kingsley Suamataia got kicked in the calf.
Wonder if Butker over-corrected a bit there after sailing wide right on 52-yarder. But it's good from 30 to give KC a 22-6 lead/3:45 left.
Quite a break for the Chiefs that Armstrong didn't get flagged jumping the gun upfield there. So they convert on third and 11 w Mahomes hitting Kelce for 12.
The can't-quite-put-'em-away vibes still lingering after Reid declines to go for it on fourth and 1 at Chargers 35 and Butker missed from 52. Still 19-6 K w just over 10 to go and Chargers inside Chiefs 40.
Chargers ball after call overturned. This game feels like it should have long since been over but just isn't quite as Chiefs now have faltered at goal line twice and given Chargers new life after LA's horrendous sequence trying to get out from deep in own end.
At halftime, it's 19-3 Chiefs, who have outgained Chargers 268-103 and would be up by more yet if not for rare reckless INT by Mahomes.
Looked like Benson jumped but got away with it on that 24-yard pass to Kelce, who somehow accelerated after the catch despite clearly limping on and off field on recent snaps.
Leading 9-3 late first half, Chiefs STILL looking for first sack since racking up four in opener against Denver. Already have pulled a rare feat without generating a sack, per @JoshDubowAP research following win over Raiders.
