1/The Globe Magazine did *not* "steal" the lesbian bar story from BARPod! I know firsthand that when our ep came out they were already on it. I didn't communicate this to Katie at the time b/c I didn't know this would become A Thing. My bad, but leave my hometown paper alone plz.

It’s $1 for 6 months and we do a lot of other great — and fun — stories!
If you are asking yourself "is it worth getting a Boston Globe subscription so I can read the viral lesbian bar story" the answer is YES, my god YES.

it's always a good day to read the boston globe dot com
I hope the new subscribers take a moment to appreciate the best feature of BostonGlobe.com: the "Trending" bar's daily heterodox offerings, such as "Nor'Easter" vs. "Income Segregation" vs. "Red Sox" vs. "Lesbian Bar"

Remember kids, if you won't pay for fantastically written viral articles on little covered slices of American life, there soon won't be any reporters to bring you more fantastically written viral articles on little covered slices of American life. Also, subs are just $1 today.
Per a note to Boston Globe staff today, the lesbian bar story generated 1,000 subscriptions to the paper yesterday. The Globe’s managing editor said it was “by far our best performing story of the year,” and appears to be “on pace to shatter all sorts of Globe records.”

In Japan, mispronouncing a word gets you a quiet, polite correction. In Boston, I tried to order the New England clam chowder. My English failed. I ordered a calm chowder. The waitress did not blink. She yelled to the kitchen: ONE CALM CHOWDER! KEEP IT PEACEFUL! The cook yelled back: NO WAVES ON THIS ONE! SMOOTH AS GLASS! The bowl arrived with two oyster crackers floating side by side, completely undisturbed. I have eaten there sixteen times since. It is on the specials board now: Calm Chowder, fifty cents extra for zero turbulence.

Hey @Netflix: The first season has 10 episodes and you binge it in a week. The second season airs three years later with 8 episodes that come out in two random chunks six weeks apart for no reason. And by the time it airs, you've forgotten the first season anyway and it's not worth the time to go back and rewatch it. There. Just saved you a crapton of consulting money. You're welcome.
Netflix's top shows have been losing 30-70% of their audience between seasons 1 and 2. Executives are trying to figure out why. Netflix's second season swoon & more in this week's newsletter: bloomberg.com/news/newslette…

Alguien se acuerda de este video que hizo el Manchester City en 2022, cuando el mundial fue en medio de la temporada y Haaland vio a todos sus compañeros yendo a Qatar y él quedándose en Manchester porque Noruega no se clasificó?

Detail from inside the gutting of the Washington Post: 300 journalists or so will be fired this AM at 8:30 AM (right now…). They’ll be cut off from newsroom computer access at 9 AM. Word got out about this yesterday afternoon. Dozens of reporters & journalists worked late last night & early this AM to finish stories they had in process before being shut out. That’s who works at the Post. No surprise. One last story. — 30 —
