There are so many undeveloped plot points within Cyberpunk 2077 (the whole issue regarding their experiments causing werewolves, unleashing actual viruses when people protested against them, potentially feeding people the meat of their failed human clone experiments)
Everyone is saying Militech but I would love a Biotechnica season considering the scale of atrocities they committed towards quite literally every member of ecosystem
Funnily enough, lesser cuckoos or Japanese cuckoos that the Devil ending talks of also lays their eggs in the nests of other birds like Nightingales and pushes out the original host’s eggs. This is called Blood Parasitism, and is quite similar to what Saburo does in this ending
Replying to @vesk08
Thus the Kyoto poet longs for, is not an actual location but rather memories associated with it; yet those memories are long gone simultaneously. This is further made visible by the lesser cuckoo (hototogisu) which is generally associated with echoing voices of the death
The paradoxical nature of The Devil ending is also visible in the poem Hajime reads. Spatial paradox (being in Kyoto, yet still longing for Kyoto) means that the “Kyoto” in second line is not the actual city, but rather an idealized version of home, romance or friendship
Kind of ironic that Pistis Sophia is the hotel where Johnny and V have their fateful conversation at the beginning of Act III. Pistis Sophia is a central figure in Gnosticism, which is about seeking wisdom to free yourself from the shackles of material world (corporatism)
I think one of the aspects of Edgerunners that should be talked about more is how intelligent David was. He would not make it in an hyper-corporate environment, yes, but excelling in a place as Arasaka Academy which had a high drop-out and suicide rate goes a long way to show
