Signing up for ChatGPT Plus was probably the least time I've ever thought about a subscription. Instant click, no brainer at $20.

Caught up with my friend @vertm today. In 1995 he founded a company called Constant Contact. We laughed a lot. So much has changed in SMB marketing, and nothing has changed at all. Little known, CTCTs first use case back in the day was actually e-Commerce email.

This is especially true of small businesses. They don’t buy “multivitamins.”
There’s a big difference from “nice to have” to “must have.” You want your product to be the second one.

Thoughtful thread on Shopify (and includes a response from @tobi)
1. Shopify stock is down 50% over the past 12 months. Its mission may be to "arm the rebels," but it is giving us muskets in a war that is increasingly being fought with machine guns. 👇👇👇
Shopify’s annual revenue: 2021: $4.6 billion 2020: $2.9 billion 2019: $1.6 billion 2018: $1.1 billion 2017: $673 million 2016: $389 million 2015: $205 million 2014: $105 million 2013: $50 million 2012: $24 million

I never tweet shame bad mobile UX because there is so much of it, but I love @andpizza’s products and mission so much that I’m hoping they’ll fix their app. It has to be a headwind on revenue. Literally no shortage of bugs and bad UX choices. (1/2)

Just video 5 new users - account setup, rewards usage, and actual pizza ordering - you will have 5 sprints worth of fixes. Lots of good mobile UX consultants - @jranft can point you at some.

Congratulations to @jabbawy and @privy!! Ben rewrote the book on small businesses, startup hustle, app ecosystems, and so much more. @MerriamWebster can just go ahead and put his picture on the definition for "tenacity."
I couldn’t be more excited to share that @attentivemobile has acquired @privy . Two industry leaders. Better together. I literally can’t stop smiling because of what this means for YOU, our customers + partners.

Would love to see Apple work with @twilio et al. to deliver to iPhones via Messages app without fees.
Sms industry is about to go crazy with the upcoming carrier registration fees. For all my email peeps, imagine having to pay your ESP, but also pay a tax to Gmail, yahoo, etc for each “campaign” you send.

Wix now powers 600K ecommerce stores. I caught up with @LiatKarpel on her 3 tips for every ecommerce store: 1. SEO - 2x traffic volume for sites that spend time on SEO 2. Cart recovery - 29% CVR lift when you implement 3. Live Chat - 8-12X revenue vs sites that don't Link 👇

Great points. Today’s Silicon Valley no longer has DARPA stamped on everything and, in Randian moments, they may forget that it was all “built on a foundation of government-funded projects — the computer chip, the internet, the mouse, the web browser, and the GPS.”

Remember SaaS providers: that single user account with a gmail email, uninterested in your enterprise plan, asking an annoying support question, may be making a choice for what will be a 100- or 1000-person company a few years from now. #BigCompaniesStartSmall

Dead point in the customer experience every time. Maybe @hiwonderment or @goshippo can address. Would be great to get an AMP dynamic email in Gmail that always updated with latest track info. (Shopify Shop app is pretty good and worth using.)
I wish there were some integration between merchants and shippers such that the user experience of "Track Shipment" wouldn't always start with "we have no information for that tracking ID, check back later."
