Not all tips are flashy, but for Illustrator users this one might come in handy. When using the pen tool you can hold down the spacebar to reposition the anchor point before releasing. Should save a few undos

Pencil sketch to vectors in Illustrator, metallic render in Photoshop using Prompt to Edit, then tweaked the lighting using the new Relight in Photoshop Beta.

I鈥檝e worked in 3D for a big part of my career, so with the new Relight feature in Photoshop Beta, I wanted to see how I could start to replicate some of the lighting and material renders I鈥檇 typically create in a 3D workflow. Relight is a Generative AI feature that lets you add up to three interactive, non-destructive lights to an image, with control over their position, intensity, color and diffusion. For this experiment, I started by creating the script type in Illustrator and adding a 3D Inflate effect before bringing it into Photoshop. From there, I used Prompt to Edit to render a metallic finish onto the type, then added a new Relight Layer via Layer > New Relight Layer. This is where it starts to feel familiar. I can move lights around the artwork, change their color and intensity, adjust the diffusion, and experiment with completely different lighting setups without having to jump back into a 3D application and re-render everything. There鈥檚 obviously a lot more I want to experiment with here, but I鈥檓 interested in how workflows like this could bring some of that 3D lighting flexibility into a much quicker Photoshop process. Relight is available to test now in Photoshop Beta. I鈥檇 love to hear where you could see this fitting into your own workflow.

I recently asked what everyone thought were some of the more underrated or overlooked features in Illustrator, and one that came up that I don鈥檛 think gets talked about a whole lot is the Symbol Sprayer and its sub-tools. I put together a little speed run highlighting a few quick tricks you might be interested in testing out. I鈥檓 using a simple grey circle as my symbol, which gives me more control over the Symbol Stainer when applying different color swatches. The Symbol Shifter and Symbol Sizer are pretty straightforward, letting you move symbols around the composition and adjust their size. Hold Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) with the Sizer to reduce their size instead. You can also use the Symbol Styler to apply graphic styles across your symbols, which opens up a lot more possibilities from that one simple starting point. I finish things off with Intertwine to create some simple overlapping and masking effects. What I like about this process is how much you can do with one basic symbol. From there, you can start spraying in other symbols, experimenting with different styles, colors and sizes, and quickly build up something much more complex. Hope this might spark some curiosity for anyone who is new to it, or hasn't picked it up in a while.

When Dynamic Text dropped in Photoshop, there were a lot of users asking why wasn't this in Illustrator. The team listened and it's now available to test out in the latest Adobe Illustrator Beta. Dynamic Text automatically resizes and reflows as you scale or reshape its container, so you don鈥檛 have to keep manually adjusting your type to make it fit. Something I have done manually, countless times over my career. It also works with Type on a Path , so any curve you draw gets the same fit-to-space behavior.

Photoshop has a new Assisted Editor (beta) with a feature called Tune where YOU create a slider to manipulate an image any way you want. It鈥檚 so impressive! Try it now in the full version of Ps and let me know what you think!

Did you know about the Absolute Scale option added to Transform Each inside Illustrator? In Relative mode you could only scale objects in relation to the selected object, but now with Absolute option you can scale everything to the defined amount.

Im digging the new Instagram wordmark. It reminded me that I actually pitched designs back in late 2020, which were unsuccessful. It was a mixture of refining the cursive style and exploring new directions. Just a couple of the options below out of the dozens proposed.
