We need to model regulating emotions and how to handle conflict with students. Remember not to take things personally. 🙌

I’m more convinced than ever… that a friendly smile and genuine greeting to the students we encounter during the day, is more meaningful than most of us realize. It doesn’t take much to inject some positivity into a kid’s day.

Teaching and learning is not transactional. It is relational. It is emotional. It is psychological safety that allows the brain to be open to the world around them. #JoyfulLeaders

My biggest tip for a teacher who is dealing with a challenging student is to figure out a way to like them. In my experience, kids often behave differently around teachers that they perceive as “liking” them.

I love this!
So here’s a challenge: Think of your most challenging student. Now think of how you might potentially interact with that student differently tomorrow. I’m not saying their behavior is your fault… but sometimes the approach of the adult can be a significant variable.
Congratulations! So proud of you and your hard work!!!
