If flights are so completely full they need volunteers to check bags at the gate, why not just let passengers check in and save the charade.

And here's another meta-analysis yet again showing benefit (mRS 0-2) when giving TPA/TNK in the 4.5-24 hour window based on penumbral imaging.
When is this going to become mainstream?

This is a major trial which will have a big impact on clinical practice. 554 patients with an indication for RRT were randomized to CVVHD vs intermittent HD. Trial stopped early due to higher 90-day mortaslity in the IHD group.
In #neurocriticalcare we always avaid IHD in patients with brain edema, shift or ICP because of the fluid shifts and hypotension. This RCT will further tip the scales toward CVVHD in borderline pts where either approach might seem reasonable.
Or is this the beginning of the end for IHD in the ICU all together?

You’re only a lawyer if you pass the bar in the lawyer region of France. Otherwise you’re just a sparkling attorney.
There’s no evidence that White House press secretary Katie Zacharia practiced law in the U.S.

This is fascinating though anyone who thinks this means doctors will be replaced by AI does not understand how medicine works, what doctors do, or the role of a physician.
The therapeutic relationship between the doctor and the patient/family can never be replicated by AI
Today @TheLancet published our AMIE study with @BIDMC_Medicine, the first prospective study of patient-facing conversational diagnostics in a real clinic.
AMIE is a research system people can chat with before doctors appointments. Testing AMIE outside the lab with real urgent care patients showed how technology can help gather medical histories safely. Clinicians reported that the summaries helped them prepare for visits in 75% of cases and influenced their approach to care in more than half. AMIE’s differential diagnoses also matched the doctors’ final diagnoses 90% of the time giving clinicians more time to focus on patient care.
It’s Google’s first-ever paper in The Lancet’s main journal!
Apparently the bots are gone. Let’s see

How soon before @Kalshi and @Polymarket get in on this
Seeing rumors on social media claiming that Mitch McConnell has been declared brain dead.
Regardless of your politics, this is a good opportunity to clear up some common misconceptions about brain death and why the words we use matter. 1/6

When we casually use “brain dead” as an insult, we make it harder for the public to understand what brain death actually means, especially for families who may one day face that diagnosis.
It is critical that we are very careful how we use this term.
Words matter.
