I decided to analyse local businesses in Austin Texas today.
The main categories I checked were barbershops, nail and beauty salons. Out of the 1223 business, 244 didn't have a website.
For people in the US, this is a great opportunity to make some extra money by targeting owners who really need a website.

Nobody really knows what will flop.
People said the same about NearoLeads when I launched it. It's made $540 in 1.5 months.
Not life-changing, but enough to prove that predicting winners in 2026 is mostly guessing.
Ok as Alex builds these projects in public I'm gonna predict in public because why not!
Im sorry to say this one I think is a great example of a saas that will never work in 2026.
Even pre AI this was a thin proposition - it's one spreadsheet or there are free online calculators that do it.
Targeting SaaS is the market most likely to build their own, so I think this one will flop

Building a $1M business for the second time.
Today I'm launching product no 6.

While running CyberLeads, I was stuck at $500k/year. For years.
I had no idea why. And I had no idea what I was supposed to do to get unstuck.
So I started tracking and analyzing everything. More than 30 metrics to be precise.
Trying to find the answer. And trying to figure out why I was stuck.
But all that did was make me even more blind.
When I first started, I was blind because I was tracking too little. And now I was blind because I was tracking too much.
Until one day I randomly found out about the most basic equation of business.
business_equilibrium = number_of_customers_per_month X number_of_months_they_stay X price_they_pay_on_average
And suddenly, everything just made sense.
For years, I was signing an average of 4 new clients per month, they stayed with me for 4 months on average, and they paid me $2k/month.
So the service part of CyberLeads was stuck at 4x4x2 = $32k/month.
The newsletter made another $10k/month.
So all together, $42k/month. Aka $500k/year.
This is why I was stuck. It wasn't my "churn". And it wasn't my "time to first value" either.
Maybe I'm just dumb.
But maybe there are more people like me, who are analyzing complicated, multi-dimensional metrics instead of focusing on the basics.
I decided to turn this simple equation into a product that calculates everything for you automatically through Stripe.

After my 8-to-5 yesterday, I focused on two things for NearoLeads:
1. Talking to customers and people who tried a free leads sample
2. Tweaking the landing page and working on new features
Honestly, #2 was way more enjoyable.
But #1 taught me far more about my product.
The conversations were raw. At first I got defensive. Then it clicked that these people were trying to help me make it better.
Building features feels like progress. Listening to customers is what actually moves the product forward.
If you're just starting out: go talk to your past and present customers. Ask for feedback. You'll learn more in one honest conversation than in a week of tweaking your site.
