Two major stories today that should be a reminder -- relying on buying forest offsets CANNOT be core to any decarbonization / net-zero plan.
1. Forest fires in Oregon are currently burning a large forest offset project. This happened last year as well

There is not a single climate scenario that decarbonizes energy and land use fast enough to keep us under 1.5C or 2C without also significantly *reducing* the energy and land use of rich nations. That is a fact, and we should be talking about it.
