You're a 30 yr old E-5 missile tech with your wife and kids stationed in Bahrain. Missiles destroy your base and kill some of your coworkers. The Navy puts you up in a hotel which also gets struck by missiles. Eventually you and your family are evacuated but forced to leave all your worldly possessions behind. Then relocated again, then again. Your kids are missing school, your wife is rightfully furious, the marriage is beyond strained. Everyone is on edge, more yelling than ever. You're $10k in the hole on an E-5 salary. Then one day as you're sitting in the hotel room in Nebraska you now call home and you get an email from a General asking for suggestions on how to win the war with Iran. Two weeks later you read an Admiral in Stars and Stripes confess that nobody at his pay grade considered the possibility that the nation we attacked might put up a fight that dragged the contest out beyond a week. You still don't know why your friends are dead. On top of living out of a hotel room you're having extra trouble sleeping, haunted by the possibility that your work may have killed 170 little girls in the first hour of this war. Don't let your kids join the military right now. They're being ordered to do ghastly and reckless things, all of which harm the nation they think they're signing up to serve. It's just not the right time. I wouldn't entrust anyone I loved to the wisdom of current military leadership. Their priorities are very clearly not your priorities and your sons' lives aren't worth whatever it is they mean to get from this debacle. None of it is meant to serve America.

Nearly six months after the Navy evacuated about 1,300 family members from Bahrain, the service is telling them they should not expect to return anytime soon according to reporting from Stars & Stripes. The prolonged evacuation has exposed major gaps in the military's relocation system. Families report tens of thousands of dollars in unreimbursed expenses, stranded vehicles and household goods, repeated moves, and uncertainty over housing, schools and medical care. Vice Adm. Curt Renshaw, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, acknowledged the problem directly, telling evacuees: “We literally have been making this up as we go, because nothing is conceived to go on this length of time.” The Navy is now directing dependents to designate a new permanent duty station, generally in the U.S, where their belongings can be delivered and they can transition out of temporary safe haven status. They could potentially return if conditions improve. Source: stripes.com/branches/navy/20…

Lately Ive been driven to create works that feel impossible to promote easily on social media or explain the essence of in one sentence. Post_Histories requires an effort from the viewer. In some ways that were intentional like - needing to spend at least 5 minutes with each work to really understand what it is... -making desktop the only really effective way to take it in, you can partially get it from mobile but pushing you off that device was certainly part of the goal... -making sound a critical part of the experience, again you can partially get it without but to fully grok it, sound, and even more specifically headphones are going to take you to a new place... then the unintentional hurdle of objkt's ADVANCED MODE. which I naively didn't realize would be something I would so deeply need to contend with as I pass the collection to people to see and try to explain everything else about it, getting a reply 30 seconds later like " it's not working" or "i only see a black screen" or "is this metamask undelivered promise thing part of the work?" LOL. at first I was frustrated by this but now I see it as another philosophical toll to be paid. I know it will not be for everyone. That is why those who do go the distance to go through all of that and then actually decide to spend 30mins-1 hr with it let alone maybe collect it are truly my people. these are the real ones. the ones who i think are seeing the world alot like i am and who share a quality that I can't really explain in words because it transcends that. There have been a number of new collectors joining the fray since yesterday's posts.... So I'd like to thank @sssluke1 @motzko @0009ine @alifarouksaloum @Yuri_jjjj @UnknownCo123 @Trippy_Roots @jon_harry7 @darbycrash58 madeyoulook @omgidrawedit for all collecting editions and I would like to send a very special thank you and warm welcome to @graceb_art for collecting the 1/1 of 'If Any Of The Things That We've Said Are True ...' I couldn't be more thrilled and honored honestly. So cheers to doing more slowing down, sitting still, listening and observing. <3 When it comes to doing more talking... My DMS are always open for questions & connection. take a seat, sound on 🔊

Did you forget the part when Trump launched his own crypto-coin 3 days before he was inaugurated? Or are you simply fucking retarded? @SenLummis
History will remember this as the moment a president chose a higher standard of ethics than the law required of him. This agreement bans ALL federal officials — including the President — from issuing or sponsoring a digital asset for profit, with real enforcement and real penalties. Thank you, @POTUS! Let's get the Clarity Act passed NOW.

1/ BTX Community Update Source: recent discussions from the BTX official community group. This is a community summary of several upcoming areas worth watching: wBTX, EVX, validator participation, and the continued growth of BTX as an open-source community network. 2/ First: wBTX is entering the final testing stage. According to recent community discussions, the wBTX contract is close to release. wBTX is expected to help connect mined BTX with Ethereum and DeFi liquidity. 3/ Why does wBTX matter? Miners secure BTX through MatMul PoW. wBTX can become a bridge between mined BTX and broader DeFi markets, helping mining communities and liquidity participants connect more easily. 4/ Important reminder: Before interacting with any wBTX contract, wait for verified information. Do not trust random DMs. Do not click unknown links. Do not approve unknown contracts. Never share private keys or seed phrases. 5/ Second: What is EVX? EVX can be understood as an execution layer / L2 direction built around the BTX ecosystem. BTX L1 provides base-layer security, block production, asset ownership, and final settlement. EVX is focused on upper-layer execution, applications, DeFi access, and broader ecosystem use cases. 6/ In simple terms: BTX is the base network. EVX is an execution-layer direction built around BTX. EVX does not replace BTX. It expands the possible use cases around BTX assets and the BTX ecosystem. 7/ Third: validator participation may focus more on active mining contribution. Recent discussions suggest that maintaining a validator role may depend more on fresh block-mining activity than simply staking BTX. Active contribution to network security may matter more than passive holding. 8/ This means miners may need to: • join a pool • or operate their own compute to prove they are actively participating in BTX network security. This aligns incentives around one principle: Those who secure the network should have a stronger role in its future ecosystem. 9/ BTX is moving from a single mining network toward broader community infrastructure. Mainnet is running. Network compute is growing. Miners are joining. Wallet support is expanding. wBTX is being tested. EVX is being discussed. Community tools are being built. 10/ Summary: • wBTX is an important upcoming development • EVX is an execution-layer / L2 direction around BTX • BTX L1 remains the base settlement network • Validator participation may favor real mining activity • BTX is becoming a broader open-source community ecosystem 11/ Final safety reminder: BTX is an open-source, community-driven project. The BTX development team remains anonymous. If anyone claims to be the official BTX team, a core team member, an official representative, or claims to have insider access, treat it as a scam risk. 12/ Protect your BTX. Never share private keys. Never share seed phrases. Do not trust private promises. Do not click unknown contract links. Do not send assets to anyone claiming to be “official.” Mine. Verify. Build. #BTX #EVX #wBTX #MatMulPoW #ProofOfWork

If you are asking “Why push back against anti-datacenter efforts?” I consider it a tragedy that anti-nuclear efforts largely strangled nuclear power in the US based on vibes, and I don’t want to see that happen to AI. Public opinion matters, and it shouldn’t be ceded unchallenged. If you are asking “Why should I support AI efforts at all?” I believe we are in the midst of a transition more vibrant than the industrial revolution. Opinions formed a couple of years ago about the uselessness of AI are no longer valid. Millions of people and organizations are getting great returns from using it, and the demand for data centers is the market responding to the value signal. That is how progress is made!

Tom Bombadil is the most mysterious character in The Lord of the Rings. He's the oldest being in Middle-earth and completely immune to the Ring's power — but why? Bombadil is the key to the underlying ethics of the entire story, and to resisting evil yourself... Tom Bombadil is an enigmatic, merry hermit of the countryside, known as "oldest and fatherless" by the Elves. He is truly ancient, and claims he was "here before the river and the trees." He's so confounding that Peter Jackson left him out of the films entirely. This is understandable, since he's unimportant to the development of the plot. Tolkien, however, saw fit to include him anyway, because Tom reveals a lot about the underlying ethics of Middle-earth, and how to shield yourself from evil. The hobbits meet Bombadil early on in their quest, before they reach Bree and the Prancing Pony Inn. He rescues Merry and Pippin from Old Man Willow, and invites the hobbits to stay at his house in the Old Forest. There, the hobbits realize something strange about him: the Ring has no power over Bombadil whatsoever. When he wears it, he remains visible. He treats it as a plaything, making it disappear with a magic trick. Indeed, at the Council of Elrond, Gandalf rejects the idea of giving the Ring to Tom, for he would likely misplace it or forget about it entirely. So just who is he, exactly? When Frodo asks this very question to Tom's wife Goldberry, she simply responds "He is." It's a cryptic answer that echoes God's famous answer to Moses in the Book of Exodus: "I am who I am." Thus, many theorize that Bombadil is God, some kind of angelic being, or even the spirit of the Music of the Ainur (due to the fact that he is constantly singing). But Tolkien's letters reveal something considerably more interesting… In April 1954, Tolkien wrote: "The story is cast in terms of a good side, and a bad side, beauty against ruthless ugliness, tyranny against kingship… but both sides in some degree, conservative or destructive, want a measure of control. But if you have, as it were, taken a 'vow of poverty', renounced control, and take your delight in things for themselves without reference to yourself… then the questions of the rights and wrongs of power and control might become utterly meaningless to you, and the means of power quite valueless…" So, Bombadil is a representation of what it means to take pure delight in the world around you — to experience people and things simply as they are, without any thought for what they could be or how you could use them. And this is why the Ring has no power over him. To Bombadil, the One Ring is simply a ring, and the possibilities of what can be achieved through its power are of no importance. He is able to resist its evil precisely because he is entirely content with the world around him. At the end of the story, having accomplished what he set out to do in Middle-earth, Gandalf pays Tom a visit before returning to the Undying Lands: "I am going to have a long talk with Bombadil: such a talk as I have not had in all my time." If Bombadil is the epitome of simply enjoying life and being, Gandalf is the epitome of doing. He guides the hobbits, fights the Balrog, and runs up and down Middle-earth to help destroy the One Ring. But now that he's finally liberated from doing, he immediately heads to Bombadil's. He does so with a sense of relief, as if he's at last able to access a purer and higher mode of being — a sort of innocence that cannot be fully experienced by those consumed by doing. Of course, by this Tolkien doesn't disparage the value of action. The entirety of LOTR displays the importance of rising up against evil, even in the face of all odds. But with the inclusion of Bombadil, he does remind readers that fighting isn't all there is. Bombadil reminds us that while it's important to strive and *do*, it is just as important to occasionally step back and *be*. Indeed, your ability to do so plays a crucial role in helping you resist the allure of evil… Read the full piece here: theculturist.io/welcome The unsung hero of The Lord of the Rings...

People still think (or feel) because Bitcoin is down crypto is down. Derivatives/perps, stablecoins, prediction markets, etc are all up in crypto. Crypto touches every area of finance, and is much broader than Bitcoin now. It will take some time for this to sink in. (And yes - Bitcoin is going to do great and is as important as ever - one of many cycles we've all been through.)

A project has been growing quietly for the past few weeks. It's called BTX. ( btx.dev ) No VC money, no marketing, no hype. Just code, GPUs, and a few very serious names. Who's behind it? Goodwin Gaw? Jonathan Teo? Both. And the game hasn't even started yet +
